President
Bush: I’m George W. Bush and I approve this message.
President Bush: I'm optimistic about America because I believe in the people of America. Voice Over: After recession, 9-11 and war, now our economy has been growing for ten straight months. The largest tax relief in history. 1.4 million jobs added since August. Inflation, interest and mortgage rates low. Record homeownership. John Kerry's response? He's talking about the Great Depression. One thing's sure... Pessimism never created a job. |

Notes and
Observations: Kerry spokesperson Stephanie Cutter responded to this
ad with a statement:
"This ad just demonstrates how out of touch George Bush really is. John Kerry has a plan to solve the problems that George Bush can't even see. Bush thinks it's good news that middle class families are making $1,500 less than they were four years ago, are being crushed by escalating health care costs and are struggling to send their kids to college. John Kerry has a real, optimistic forward looking plan to create new and better jobs, control health care costs and make us independent of Middle East oil. George Bush's new ad says that things in America are good enough, John Kerry knows that we can do better." |
