[Music in background--very slow and pensive at the start; pace then picks up]

John Edwards: Growing up it seemed like almost everyone in town worked at the mill.  And when it moved it was devastating.

That's happening all over--plants packing up and moving where labor's cheap and the environment doesn't count.

It doesn't have to be that way.

I'll stop tax breaks for companies moving their headquarters overseas and give the breaks instead to companies who build their plants right here.

I'm John Edwards, and I approved this message because I want to export American products, not American jobs.

On the screen: Fairly wide shot of Edwards walking toward the camera; a closed plant and weeds in the background.  He is wearing a light green shirt and khaki pants.  CG identifies him as "Senator John Edwards."  CG off and camera slowly zooms in.  CG: "The Edwards Plan: Stop tax breaks for companies moving headquarters overseas."  CG: "The Edwards Plan: Give tax breaks to companies that manufacture here."  CG disclaimer.
