Alexis Herman ad

60-second radio ad announced Sept. 21, 2004, run on African American radio stations in battleground states.
Alexis Herman: This is Alexis Herman.

When President Clinton appointed me to be the first African American Secretary of Labor, I felt proud to represent our community.

But pride has turned to anger after four years of George Bush’s failed policies.

Since George Bush became President, 1.6 million private sector jobs have been lost and over 384,000 more African Americans are out of work.

African American household income under George Bush is down by more than $1,500 a year.

George Bush has opposed every effort to raise the minimum wage.

But he did raise Medicare premiums by 17 % on our parents and grandparents.

John Kerry will fight for jobs and health care. John Kerry will protect our civil rights and support education.

Vote for John Kerry. He will lead America in a new direction.

John Kerry
: I am John Kerry, I’m running for President and I approved this ad.
