Notes and Observations: The press release announcing the release of this ad noted that, "The ad is the first in the Presidential campaign that shows footage of President Bush in his flight suit aboard the aircraft carrier."

On November 8 Sarah Schweitzer reported in the Boston Globe that the Dean campaign planned to run an aircraft carrier ad.

Upon release of this ad, Dean campaign manager Joe Trippi issued a statement: "John Kerry wants to question the war in Iraq now, but what's important is that he didn't question the war when it counted.  He voted to allow President Bush to rush America into this ill-advised war, and no amount of television commercials is going to erase that."
