"Nevada Talks Back"
:60 radio ad run in Nevada June 18, 2004 coinciding with President Bush's visit to Reno.

Companion print ad.

Woman:  My name is Judy Trical [phon.]  Three generations of my family call Nevada home.

I have a question for President Bush.

Mr. Bush, you're in Reno today speaking to a handpicked crowd, but can you answer one question for the rest of us?

Why are you making Nevada a dumping ground for the nation's nuclear waste?

As a governor, you said you didn't want Texas to become a dumping ground for other states, but that's exactly what you're doing to us.

Mr. Bush your plan for Yucca Mountain is wrong.  The science is wrong, the site is wrong, and the way you lied to us is wrong.

Four years ago, you told us sound science would decide Yucca Mountain.

Now you're dumping 77,000 tons of toxic waste in Nevada.

Mr. Bush, before you go home tonight, please answer one question.  If nuclear waste is wrong for the people of Texas, why is it right for the people of Nevada.

Notes and Observations: Note that the woman directly addresses President Bush.
