-Amb. Moseley Braun endorsed Gov. Howard Dean in an event at Carroll High School in Carroll, Iowa on January 15, 2004. -Amb. Moseley Braun plans to visit Iowa on January 11-12, 2004. She participated in the Brown & Black Forum at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines on the evening of January 11. January 12 no information- not counted. -Amb. Moseley Braun participated in the National Public Radio Forum at Iowa State Extension Campus in Des Moines, Iowa early afternoon on January 6, 2004. Also on this day, she taped "The Candidates with David Yepsen" which ran January 7. Her day on Tuesday, trapped by the snowstorm, was spent fundraising on the phone. -Amb. Des Moines
Register debate at Iowa Public Television Studios in Johnston, Iowa
early on the afternoon of January 4, 2004. [She
had planned to attend a healthcare event in Des Moines the next morning
but it was cancelled; she returned to Chicago]. 2003: 8 visits, 9 days
-Amb. Moseley Braun did a photo shoot for Washingtonian
magazine; addressed the League of Rural Voters forum at Hotel Fort Des
Moines; and attended the Jefferson Jackson Day Dinner at Veterans
Memorial
Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa on November 15, 2003.
-Amb. Moseley Braun attended the Harkin Steak
Fry in Indianola, Iowa
on September 13, 2003. -Amb. Moseley Braun visited Iowa on August
14,
2003. She visited the Iowa State Fair, greeting attendees at
the Democrats' booth and enjoying some butter pecan ice cream; and
participated in
the Governor's Conference on Public Heath at Drake University.
Because
of the power blackout she and a couple of aides decided to drive to
Chicago,
and they stopped at the Country Kitchen in Davenport on the way there.
-On August 3, 2003 Amb. Moseley Braun
flew to Waterloo, Iowa,
where she participated in Sen. Harkin's Hear It From The Heartland
Forum
at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. After the forum she did a
brief
profile interview with Charlotte Eby of the Waterloo Courier.
Braun and interim campaign director Pat Botterman then traveled to
Olwein,
where she attended the Fayette County Democrats Hog Roast
Fundraiser.
They then drove to Chicago. -Amb. Moseley Braun visited Des Moines,
Iowa
on May 16-17, 2003. On the
evening
of May 16 she attended the AFSCME reception at the Polk County
Convention
Complex. On May 17 she participated in the AFSCME town hall
meeting. -Amb. Moseley Braun spoke at an event sponsored by American Women Presidents, a political action committee, at Hotel Fort Des Moines in Des Moines, Iowa on February 15, 2003. (First stop of a three-state pre-announcement tour--NH on Feb. 16 and SC on Feb. 17). This event occurred during the big President's Day weekend snow storm; according to the Des Moines Register's Thomas Beaumont, it attracted exactly one person, in addition to media and organizers. |
