(started Jan. 1, 2004)  President of Old Dominion Strategies, LLC..  Hutcheson is a veteran political operative whose experience includes serving as executive director of the Virginians For Jerry Kilgore PAC since early 2002, U.S. Sen. John Warner's 2002 re-election campaign manager, campaign manager on Jerry Kilgore's successful campaign for Attorney General in 2001, and political director on George Allen's successful U.S. Senate campaign in 2000.  Graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, 1994.

Managed Fay Boozman's U.S. Senate race in Arkansas, 1998.  Executive director of the Virginia Christian Coalition, 1997.  Southwest Virginia Field Director on Ollie North's 1994 U.S. Senate race.  Has worked several stints at the Virginia Republican Party, including organizing the party's state conventions in 1994, 2000 and 2004.  First campaign was in 1991 as a volunteer on Bob McDonnell's race for Virginia House of Delegates.  Served in the Navy for five years, 1985-90.  Graduate of Virginia Military Institute, with a degree in history, 1985.

Kate Obenshain Griffin

Elected in Sept. 2003.  Served as Gov. George Allen's education and health policy advisor.  Worked on Allen's 1993 gubernatorial campaign.  Graduate of the University of Virginia.  Virginia native.  Resident of Winchester and mother of four young children.  Daughter of Richard Obenshain, who served as chairman of the party starting in 1972 and was the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in 1978 but died in a plane crash.

Shane R. Ostrowski

(announced Jan. 7, 2004)  Prior to coming to Virginia Ostrowski served for three years as political director of the Ohio Republican Party starting in late 2000.  He served as regional field director for the Ohio Republican Party from 1997-2000; and started at the party in 1996 as assistant to the political director.  Also in 1996 he was one of five national co-directors of the youth campaign for Dole/Kemp.  From Bowling Green.

Shawn M. Smith

(announced Jan. 6, 2003)  Smith came to the Republican Party of Virginia from his position as legislative consultant in the law firm of Reed Smith.  He served Gov. James Gilmore as liaison for House relations and was deputy director of the Governor's Blue Ribbon Commission on Higher Education.  Smith graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in government and sociology.
