Dan Richman: a web developer in Charlotte, NC.
In a February 5, 2003 e-mail responding to a query about the what he has learned from running the site, Richman wrote:

It's been an interesting 2 years!  I was an Edwards supporter in '98, and when I looked at his voting record in early 2001, I was pretty surprised.  It quickly became apparent that almost immediately after being elected to his first senate term, he was gunning for the presidency.

Basically I get emails from 2 types of people: 1) People who agree with me, and thank me for providing the information; and 2) People who disagree with me, and insist on labeling me a right-wing nut.

Once in a while, I'll hear from a good, unbiased person who's interested in an honest debate.  But these are rare.  Generally speaking, I've found that people are quite polarized, and vehemently so.  I've been frustrated by people who miss my entire point, which isn't that liberalism is bad, but rather that LYING to get elected is bad.  The agree with Edwards's votes (which puts them in the minority here in NC), and don't care that he ran as a moderate and basically fooled the electorate to win his senate seat.
