Before joining Boston 2004, Inc, Burns served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, and in that position she organized Boston's bid for the 2004 Democratic National Convention.  Burns has previously served as the Director of Special Projects and Special Assistant to Debra DeLee, CEO of the 1996 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Ill..  She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and a native of Lowell, Massachusetts.

Served as Deputy Press Secretary to Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.  In 2002 she served as Press Secretary to gubernatorial candidate Warren Tolman and Deputy Press Secretary to gubernatorial candidate Shannon O'Brien. Originally from New York City, Grant has lived in Massachusetts since 1990 and is a graduate of Boston University.
