Talking to Reporters After CBS "Face the Nation"
March 2, 2003.  After fielding foreign policy questions from anchor Bob Schieffer on CBS's "Face the Nation," Gov. Dean answered reporters' questions outside the studio.  George Washington University students Ruth Link-Gelles, Melissa Godin, and Ari Mittleman, members of the "Unofficial Dean Street Team," got up early on this Sunday morning to show their support.  Dean is demonstrating a strong ability to attract young people; youthful supporters formed an energetic cheering section at the DNC Winter Meeting.

In an e-mail, Mittleman explained how he came to be attracted to Dean's campaign:

"I had heard about his work in environmental circles, (I have interned for several environmental not for profits), and then I did some internet research of my own...  I found him most appealing because he actually approached me.  I was at the Victory Fund luncheon in October 2002 and for sure one of the youngest there and he came up to me and told me that I was the youngest there. The fact that we had a decent conversation for ten minutes or so and that he wasn't looking around the room for someone with an Armani suit and deep pockets, was what really impressed me."
