First of all let me thank you all.  This has been a great, a great evening, and I am pleased we, everybody got to talk about the issues.

I'm from the let's beat George Bush wing of the Democratic party.

I started out, I started out saying the way we're going to beat George Bush is we're going to go after him on the issues.  We're going to talk about homeland security; we're going to talk about balanced budgets; we're going to talk about health care for all Americans, child care, domestic violence.

But I realized that our biggest loss over the last two years is not the nearly three million jobs that we've lost in the private sector because of this president, and it's not even the loss of respect that we've had around around the world because this president's foreign policy essentially amounts to: get out of my way or I'll see you in the parking lot after school.

The biggest loss that we've had in this country under this president is our loss of community.  It is not enough--I want a different America--  It's not enough to say if you're rich, you're rich because you deserve it, and if you're poor, you're poor because you deserve it.  I was brought up in a country where we were all together.

I want a country where it's my obligation as a citizen of my state to make sure we all have health insurance, but it's your obligation as citizens of your state, and my obligation, to make sure we have health insurance for every kid, not just in Vermont, not just in DC, but in Alabama and Mississippi and in Harlem too.  We all have that obligation.  I want a country where it's not enough to say I want good schools in my community, where every single one of you as a citizen and I do too have an obligation to make sure that every kid and every community has [inaud.] schools.

When I say, when I say I want our country back, I want a country back for all of us.

The biggest lie that people like me tell people like you at election time is if you vote for me I'll solve all your problems.  The truth is that you have the power to take the, this country back, not me; that you have the power to force this party to open itself up so people vote again--we give them a reason to vote.  That you have the power to take this country back so that we all stand together.  And that we have the power, all together, to take the White House back in 2004 and that is exactly what we're going to do.

Thank you very much.
