Gov. Howard Dean

New Hampshire
Hailing from the neighboring state of Vermont, travel is a bit easier for Dean than for some of the other candidates.  In 2002 he made 21 visits and spent 24 days campaigning in New Hampshire, more visits and more time than any of the likely candidates, attending many county and town Democratic committee events where was able to meet local activists.  In  2003 he doubled that, making 39 visits and spending 55 days campaigning in New Hampshire.  [calendar]
