AMHERST
Dr. Bill Siroty of Amherst is an internist
and allergist with the
Nashua Medical Group, and a member of
Doctors for Dean and LGBT
for Dean. He is Editor of "New Hampshire
New Links," a widely read
and influential compilation of New Hampshire
and national news
articles. He is a member of the Hillsborough
County Democratic
Committee and in 2000, he was a delegate
pledged to Senator Bill
Bradley at the Democratic National Convention.
BROOKLINE
Betty Hall of Brookline served as an
11-term State Representative.
Active on a number of boards and committees,
she received the
Dunfey-Kanteres award in 1997.
CONCORD
Carol Moore of Concord was a State Representative
for 10 years and
is a lifelong Democrat and activist
for social justice.
Alex Lee of Concord is an extremely active
member of the campaign,
serving as a zone captain for a ward
in Concord. He is a strong
environmental advocate, a lawyer by
profession, and gave his
speech at the delegate caucus dressed
as Tom Paine.
DEERFIELD
Rebecca Hutchinson of Deerfield is a
former State Representative
and longtime Democratic activist. She
has hosted a house party for
Governor Dean which drew over 125 attendees,
and has held six
organizational house meetings with neighbors
and friends to spread
Governor Dean's message.
DURHAM
Rep. Dr. Joseph Miller from Durham is
a retired medical doctor, a
veteran and the oldest person to attend
the delegate caucus (his
first vote for President was for Franklin
Delano Roosevelt).
Miller worked as Director of Project
Hope in Guatemala, sits on
the NH State Committee on Aging and
says that he ran for NH State
Representative in 2002 at the urging
of Governor Dean.
HANOVER
Sarah Ayers of Hanover, a 20 year-old
sophomore at Dartmouth
College, moved from Alaska to the Upper
Valley during middle
school. Her father is a biologist at
Dartmouth and her mother is a
special education assistant. She helped
found Dartmouth for Dean
and is very active in bringing Governor
Dean's message to young
people.
Will Bittinger of Hanover, also 20 and
a lifelong resident of the
Upper Valley, currently attends Brown
University and is studying
Modern European History. He has been
volunteering extensively in
the Upper Valley field office, and previously
campaigned door-to-
door for Bill Bradley.
LONDONDERRY
Maura Spiegelman of Londonderry is an
18 year old high school
student. She turned 18 on the last day
to register to vote in the
New Hampshire primary and to run to
be a Dean delegate, and did
both on that day. She is an honors student
at Derryfield High
School.
MANCHESTER
Rep. Lionel Johnson of Manchester is
a renowned civil rights
activist who was instrumental in the
struggle to bring Martin
Luther King Day to New Hampshire. He
is a founder and past
president of the NAACP of Greater Manchester
and president and
founder of the Manchester Black Scholarship
Foundation. He is a
small business owner here in Manchester.
Dr. Trini Tellez of Manchester is a first-time
campaign volunteer.
She is in a medical residency program
at Eliot Hospital to become
a family doctor. She is a member of
Doctors for Dean and has done
Hispanic outreach for the campaign here
in New Hampshire.
PELHAM
Siddhartha Das of Pelham has been a
registered Democrat for over
20 years. He was a small business owner
for eleven years and in
the manufacturing sector for fourteen
years. He lost his
manufacturing job, and is now working
in education.
PORTSMOUTH
Peter Somssich of Portsmouth was born
in Budapest, Hungary and
emigrated to the United States to escape
the Communist government.
He is a physicist and member of the
Executive Committee of the
Portsmouth Democrats.
Barbara Tsairis of Portsmouth has been
active in New Hampshire
grassroots politics for over 20 years.
She has worked for the NH
Women's Lobby and was coordinator of
the Seacoast Chapter of
Women's Action for Nuclear Disarmament.
