Dean for America  
On May 30, 2002, Dean mailed the FEC papers establishing Dean for America, a presidential campaign committee.  Dean for America is headquartered in Burlington, Vermont.  Joe Trippi is national campaign director.

Bender has an entertainment background, notably work on the Roseanne television show.
 
 
Press Secretary/Deputy State Director Eric Schmeltzer
(June 2003)  Prior to joining the campaign, Schmeltzer worked for 3 1/2 years as press secretary to Congressman Jerry Nadler.  Earlier he worked for two years as deputy communications director for Public Campaign.
 
 
Political Director Tara Martin
(October 2003)  Chairwoman of the New York State Democratic Committee's "Caucus of Color;" was an aide to New York City Councilwoman Yvette Clark of Brooklyn.  (October 24, 2003 article in Forward)
 
 
Research Director John Arceci
A member of the group that founded New York for Dean, one of the first grassroots organizations in New York State, in February 2003.  Went on to volunteer part time and later quit his job and worked full time for the campaign.
 

A very active volunteer is Nicole Shore, director of volunteers.

On March 31, 2003 the campaign announced the endorsement of Judith Hope, who served as chairperson of the New York Democratic Party from 1995-2001.
