Dean for America
On May 30, 2002, Dean mailed the FEC papers establishing Dean for America, a presidential campaign committee.  Dean for America is headquartered in Burlington, Vermont.  Joe Trippi is national campaign manager.

Oklahoma State Director Chilton Ladd Marshall
(Officially announced Aug. 12, 2003)  Experience includes work as field director for the Women’s Voter Information Project in Arkansas and director of operations on the “No on 695” campaign in 2001.  Marshall, a native Oklahoman and Native American, attended Norman High School and the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
 
 
Field Director Barton Vaughn
(since Aug. 2003)  Vaughn has a degree in degree in History and Political Science from Davidson College in North Carolina.  He worked with John Edwards' Senate race in 1998 and with the Gore/Lieberman presidential bid in 2000. 
 
 
Field Staff Courtney Ruark
Ruark grew up in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Political Science in December 2003.  She founded a chapter of Students for Howard Dean at OU, and has worked as the statewide Generation Dean Co-Chair.
 
 
Volunteer Coordinator and Constituency Director Keith Smith
(Dec. 2003)  Smith has worked as a lobbying the Oklahoma legislature on issues such as reproductive freedom, GLBT rights, disability rights, environmental protection and religious liberty; his company is called the Smith Group.   He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.
 
 
Community Outreach Organizer Eva Jo Sparks
Sparks is a longtime grassroots organizer and community activist who has been active in helping the Oklahoma Democratic Party expand its membership.
 
 
African-American Outreach Director Lillie Buckner
Buckner is PR Director for Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Second Vice-President of the Chi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, President of the Proactive Political PAC and a long time community activist.
 
 
Technology and Data Director Phillipe Beaudette
Beaudette grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma City University and has been active with the Stonewall Democrats in Oklahoma.
 
 
Communications Director Troy Colbert
Colbert is returning to Oklahoma after working throughout the country for several years on various campaigns for Democratic candidates, most recently in both Pennsylvania and Mississippi for the 2002 election cycle.  He managed Ben Odom's congressional campaign in 1998 and worked in the Media Office of the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1999. 
 
 
Oklahoma State Coordinator Former Governor David Walters
Elected Governor in 1998 at age 38 and served one term.  Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in 2002, but lost to incumbent Sen. Jim Inhofe. A "born and bred" Oklahoman, Walters has degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Harvard Business School.

Ben Odom - Norman attorney served as Sen. Bob Graham's State Director; announced his endorsement of Dean following Graham's withdrawal from the race.

On Sept. 5, 2003 State Rep. Mike Mass (D-Hartshorne ...District 17) announced his endorsement of Dean.
