During 2003, Sen. Edwards spent 51 candidate days in Iowa and 39 candidate days in New Hampshire, for a total of 90 candidate days (one day included events in both states) or about 24.7 percent of his time campaigning in the two states:
First quarter:  1 trip, 2 days in Iowa and 1 trip, 1 day in NH.
Second quarter:  7 trips, 9 days in Iowa and 5 trips, 8 days in NH.
Third quarter:  5 trips, 14 days in Iowa and 7 trips, 15 days in NH.
Fourth quarter: 10 trips, 26 days in Iowa and 8 trips, 15 days in NH.
