Gephardt Campaign Announces Michigan Youth 4 Gephardt

Detroit, MI - Rep. Dick Gephardt today announced the formation of Michigan Youth 4 Gephardt, a statewide
grassroots organizing effort to get young people involved in his campaign for the presidency.

"I am proud to be involved with Michigan Youth 4 Gephardt," said Isaac Robinson, Membership Director for
Michigan Young Democrats and Michigan Youth 4 Gephardt. "Young people on campuses across this state are
worried about finding a good job when they graduate and Congressman Gephardt is the only candidate with a plan
to create jobs and keep good paying jobs in this country. Under President Bush’s leadership,
we’ve lost thousands of jobs in Michigan. Dick Gephardt understands the real problems families in
Michigan are facing." Alana Jackson, Chair of the 14th District Young Democrats and University of Detroit-Mercy
Students 4 Gephardt added "As a wife, mother, student, and union member, Dick Gephardt stands for what is
important to me and I am proud to be supporting him."

Michigan Youth 4 Gephardt is part of the national Students for Gephardt organization. Today, the campaign has
organizers on more than 70 high school and college campuses across the country and continues to grow. Students
for Gephardt have already led a canvassing road trip from Michigan to Iowa, organized door-to- door and visibility
efforts in New Hampshire and hosted campaign forums in Pennsylvania. The campaign also has a Students for
Gephardt website that features a blog for students to comment on campaign activities and communicate with each
other, students for Gephardt event slideshows, student-focused literature available for download, a listserve to
keep students informed of campaign events and a grassroots primer to help students coordinate events in their
     school community.
