Oklahoma UAW Endorses Gephardt
Gephardt Announces Additional Sooner State
Supporters
Oklahoma City, OK - The Oklahoma United Automotive, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) today announced its endorsement of Dick Gephardt's candidacy for president.
"One of the UAW mottos has always been support those who support us," said Judy Calhoun, President, Oklahoma UAW Community Action Program (CAP) Council. "Dick Gephardt's strong leadership and proven loyalty to working men and women has earned our allegiance to his candidacy and Oklahoma UAW is proud to endorse Dick Gephardt for president.
UAW of Oklahoma represents more than 7,000 retired and active members throughout the state.
"I am honored and proud to have the support and endorsement of Oklahoma UAW members," said Gephardt. "With the help of Oklahoma UAW members we will build a winning campaign in the state based on my bold ideas to create jobs, get our economy moving again and get every American covered with quality health insurance."
Gephardt also announced additional Gephardt Sooner State Supporters, part of his "Ten Weeks 'til Tuesday" effort, a running tally of Oklahoma supporters of his presidential campaign.
"Ten Weeks 'til Tuesday" builds on Rep. Gephardt's already impressive list of Democratic Party leaders and activists that make up the Gephardt Sooner State Supporters. Additional Sooner State Supporters will be announced every Tuesday until the Oklahoma Presidential Primary on Tuesday, February 3rd.
