Economic Policy Speech at the Brookings Institution                         ...2 of 3 >>
October 2, 2002--Former Vice President Gore lambasted President Bush's handling of the economy.  "Like a lost driver who won't stop to ask for directions, the President clutches his old plan and continues racing in the wrong direction - farther and farther into the economic wilderness--with the fate of nearly 300 million Americans in tow," Gore said.  "We need to insist... that President Bush open a full discussion of economic policy during the five weeks that remain between now and the November 5th election."
