-Sen. Graham visited Iowa on September 13, 2003. He attended the Latin Festival at Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines; and attended the Harkin Steak Fry in Indianola. Counties: Polk, Warren. --Gwen Graham Logan, the oldest of Bob and Adele Graham's four daughters, campaigned in Iowa for two weeks starting on September 12, 2003. A few details...On September 12 she had lunch at McNally Bake Shop and Luncheonette in Emmetsburg and campaigned at the Clay County Fair in Spencer. On the afternoon of September 16 she made appearances at the Johnson County Senior Center in Iowa City; met Johnson County residents at Cottage Bakery and Café in Iowa City; toured the Uptown Bill Small Mall in Iowa City; and attended a Clinton County Democrats' Central Committee meeting at Clinton County Democratic headquarters in Clinton. .

Vacation" RV tour around eastern Iowa from August 6-14, 2003.

-Sen. Graham visited Iowa on August 1-3,
2003. On August 1 in Sioux City he held an economic
roundtable at The Daily Grind; appeared live on the 6 p.m. news on KTIV
Channel; 4 and attended a dessert reception with the Truman Club at the
home of Beth and David Noyse.
-Sen. Graham visited
Iowa
on July 19-20, 2003. On July 19 in Des Moines he did
a meet and greet with the Iowa Democratic Party; did a walking tour of
the Farmers Market; and held an economic discussion over coffee at Java
Joe's; in the early evening he attended the Knoxville Speedway Races
at the Marion County fairgrounds. On July 20 in Des Moines he taped
"Face the Nation;" and attended services at St. Paul AME Church; he then
attended the Madison County Fair at the fairgrounds in Winterset.

-Sen. Graham visited Iowa on June 7-8,
2003. On June 7 in Council Bluffs he attended a "Truman
Fund" fundraiser at the home of Mike Gronstal; attended a Tom Harkin reception
and then did the "Hear it from the Heartland" forum, followed by a media
availability at Iowa Western Community College; and attended a Truman Fund
fundraiser at Robert and Miriam Patterson's home in Ames.
On June 8 he attended the 4th Annual Vilsack/Pederson Family Picnic at
the Old Threshers Grounds in Mt. Pleasant, then did activist meetings
at the Java House in Iowa City and at Renaldo's Restaurant in Cedar
Rapids. Counties: Pottawattamie,

-Sen. Graham visited Iowa
on May 16-17 and May 18, 2003. On the evening of May 16 he
attended the AFSCME reception at the Polk County Convention Complex in
Des
Moines. On May 17 he spoke at the AFSCME town hall meeting, and
attended the ISEA meeting at Adventureland Inn in Altoona.
He then proceded to events in Nebraska, returning on the morning of May
18 for breakfast at the home of Greg and Linda Steensland in Council
Bluffs. Counties: Polk,

-Sen. Graham visited Des Moines, Iowa on
May
10-11, 2003. On the evening of May 10 he attended the Polk County
Democrats Reception and Dinner at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. On
May 11 he worked the lunch shift busing tables at the Drake Diner.

-Sen. Graham visited Des Moines, Iowa on April 28-29, 2003. Arriving around 11:30, he had lunch with IDP chair Gordon Fischer and executive director Jean Hessburg at the Embassy Club; met with Congressman Boswell; met with AP's Mike Glover; met with Des Moines Register's Tom Beaumont; and met with former IDP chair Sheila McGuire Riggs. On April 29 he met with Mark Smith, president of the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO; had lunch with the Register's Dave Yepsen; spoke to the Senate Caucus; spoke to the House Caucus; met with Gov. Vilsack and Lt. Gov. Pedersen; and attended a meeting of the Izaak Walton League. Graham left on the morning of the April 30 without doing any further events. Counties: Polk. |
