-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on October 31-November 3, 2003, a four-day swing. 
On October 31 starting at the Country House Restaurant in Colo he proceeded to Rte 65 (parallel road between 270th and 280th Streets) where he spoke on agriculture conservation and went on a pheasant hunting trip; he did a Halloween Meet and Greet at Fischer Community Center in Marshalltown; and did an Iowa Public Television taping in Johnston.
On November 1 he spoke on next generation energy atUniversity of Northern Iowa's Agriculture Based Industrial Lubricants Research Program in Waverly; did an event with Democrats at Waverly Public Library in Waverly; did an event with Democrats at Chickasaw County Center in New Hampton; did an event with Democrats at VFW Post No 4561 in Cresco; and did an event with Democrats at Marty’s Café in the Luther College Centennial Union in Decorah.
On November 2 he did an event with Democrats at Yen Hing Dragon Restaurant in Waukon; did an event with Democrats at Johnson's Supper Club in Elkader; did an event with Democrats at Riverview Station in Manchester; and attended a Women for Kerry event hosted by Scott County Recorder Rita Vargas, Rep. Mary Mascher and Rep. Swati Dandekar at the Union Station Welcome Center in Davenport.
On November 3 he spoke on clean water at Credit Island in Davenport; did an event with Democrats at RJ Boars Restaurant in Clinton; dropped by Ramadan services at The Islamic Center in Cedar Rapids; and did an event with Democrats at Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids.

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on October 29, 2003.  He did a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Cedar Rapids; and did a book signing at Prairie Lights Bookstore in Iowa City.

-Rep. Gephardt visited Iowa on October 28-29, 2003
Starting late on the afternoon of October 28 he met with local Democrats at Heartland Senior Services in Ames, hosted by Former State Rep. Dennis Parmenter; and met with local Democrats at the Senior Center at 749 Second Street in Webster City, hosted by Leonard and Colleen Rotschafer.
On October 29 he met with local Democrats at The Cedar Room in Humboldt, met with local Democrats at Family Table Restaurant, hosted by County Supervisor Paul Beneke; met with local Democrats at Rockwell City Public Library, hosted by Pat Hood and Calhoun County Democrats; met with local Democrats at Sac City Public Library, hosted by Deb Stehr; and met with local Democrats at the Ida Grove Community Hall, hosted by the Ida Grove County Democrats.

-Sen. Edwards visited Iowa on October 27-28, 2003
Starting on the afternoon of October 27 he attended a house party with Democratic activists at the home of Pam Wilson in Council Bluffs; met with Democratic activists at the Firehouse Brewery in Red Oak; attended a house party with Democratic activists at the home of Karl Knock in Creston; met with Democratic activists at Redmonds Restaurant in Osceola; and attended a house party with Democratic activists at the home of John and Joan Amos in Chariton.
On October 28 he met with Democratic activists at Marketplace Deli in Centerville; and met with Democratic activists at Albia Cafe in Albia.

-Gov. Dean received the formal endorsement of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades at IUPAT District Council 81 in Ankeny, Iowa late on the morning of October 27, 2003.

-Rep. Gephardt visited Iowa on October 24-25, 2003
Starting mid-afternoon on October 24 he participated in a roundtable discussion with central Iowa women about health care and tax cuts at Java Joe's in Des Moines; met with local Democrats at the Madison County Historical Complex in Winterset, hosted by County Chair Bob Bell and Joyce Kooker; and met with local Democrats at Bon's Bakehouse in Greenfield, hosted by County Chair Linda Terry and Jay Howe.
On the morning and early afternoon of October 25 he plans to met local Democrats at the Cass County Courthouse in Atlantic, hosted by County Chair Ron Feilmeyer; met local Democrats at Lil's Diner in Audubon, hosted by County Chair Bob Nelson; and met local Democrats at Shelby County Museum in Harlan, hosted by County Chair Donna Clothier.

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on October 22-23, 2003.
On October 22 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City he discussed higher education and had lunch with students at the River Room Cafeteria, IMU, then did a meet and greet with student supporters; next he did a series of events with local Democrats in three counties: at Buc's Steak House in Washington; at Ogo's Restaurant in Montrose; and at Big Muddy's Restaurant in Burlington. 
On October 23 he breakfasted with Democrats at Thunder Bay Grill in Davenport; spoke on the economy at Tec Industrial in Davenport; had lunch with local Democrats at Bootlegger's Restaurant in Muscatine; did an event with local Democrats at The Cedar Family Restaurant in Tipton; and in the evening attended a fundraiser for State Senator Roger Stewart at The Comfort Inn in Maquoketa.

-Sen. Edwards visited Iowa on October 22-23, 2003, part of what was billed as a week-long National Check Up Tour designed "to diagnose President Bush's failing record on health care and to highlight his own prescriptions to make the health care system work for everyone." 
On October 22 he had breakfast with Democratic activists at the home of Mary Lynn Neuhaus in Dubuque; attended a house party with Democratic activists at the home of Ron and Judy McMahon in Manchester; met with Democratic activists at Elkader Deli in Elkader; met with Democratic activists at Gus and Tony's Pizza and Steak House in Waukon; met with Democratic activists at the home of County Attorney Pat Wegman in New Hampton; and attended a house party with Democratic activists at the home of Rod and Susie Baker in Parkersburg.
On October 23 he met with Democratic activists at Vibe Coffehouse in Cedar Falls; and met with Democratic activists at Archie Brooks Community Center in Des Moines.

-Gov. Dean visited Iowa on October 20-22, 2003.
On October 20 he hosted a town hall meeting at the Holiday Inn in Sioux City; met with Plymouth County Democrats at Lally's Eastside Restaurant in Le Mars (86th county visited); met with Sioux County Democrats at Orange City Public Library in Orange City (87th county); met with Lyon County Democrats at Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids (88th); met with Osceola County Democrats at Sibley Public Library in Sibley (89th); met with O'Brien County Democrats at Kinbrae South Restaurant in Sheldon (90th); and met with Emmet County Democrats at Iowa Lake Community College in Estherville (91st).
On October 21 he met with Palo Alto County Democrats at McNally's Bake & Luncheonette in Emmetsburg (92nd); met with Kossuth County Democrats at the Chrome Truck Stop in Algona (93rd); met with Hancock County Democrats at the home of Gloria Goll in Klemme (94th); met with Winnebago County Democrats at Lake Mills High School in Lake Mills (95th); discussed renewable energy at the home of Curt Evans in Joice; met with Mitchell County Democrats at Lula's Restaurant in Osage (97th); and met with Cerro Gordo County Democrats at Northern Iowa Community College in Mason City.
On October 22 he toured rural Iowa with rural advocates starting at I-35 and Highway 18-122 in Clear Lake; met with Floyd County Democrats at Charles City Public Library; met with Chickasaw County Democrats at the home of Kit and Judy O'Donahoe in New Hampton; met with Clayton County Democrats at Johnson's Restaurant in Elkader; met with Allamakee County Democrats at the home of Mary Jan White in Waukon (98th); and met with Howard County Democrats at Crestwood High School in Cresco (99th county).

-Rep. Gephardt visited Iowa on October 18-19, 2003
Late on the afternoon of October 18 he delivered a speech on jobs and the economy at Teamsters Local 238 in Cedar Rapids. 
On October 19 he met with local Democrats at American Legion Hall in Oelwein, hosted by Bill Mundt; met with local Democrats at Mabe's Pizza in Decorah, hosted by John Hjelle and the Winneshiek County Democrats; met with local Democrats at the New Hampton Community Center in New Hampton, hosted by Nancy Benson; attended the Grundy County Democrats' Soup Supper at Dike Legion Hall in Dike; met with local Democrats at Iowa Title Company in Charles City, hosted by Jim Davis and Stewart and Elizabeth Dalton; and met with local Democrats at Mason City Senior Citizen Center in Mason City, hosted by John Clemons and Alan Anderson.

-Gov. Dean visited Iowa on October 17-18, 2003.  On the evening of October 17 he attended the Polk County Democrats Fall Harvest Dinner and Auction at Isaac Walton League in Des Moines; and appeared live on "Iowa Press" from the Iowa Public Television studios.  On the morning of October 18 he met with nurses at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.

Gov. Dean, Sen. Edwards, Rep. Gephardt, Sen. Kerry, Rep. Kucinich and Amb. Carol Moseley Braun participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites in Des Moines on October 15, 2003:
-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on October 15 and 17-18, 2003.  Planned events on October 16 and an appearance on October 17 were cancelled due to the vote on Iraq funding.
On October 15 he spoke on senior issues at Mason City Public Library; participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites in Des Moines; and did an event with local Democrats at Taso's Steak House in Oskaloosa. 
(On October 16 he had planned to do three events with firefighters: a morning event at Hotel Ottumwa in Ottumwa; an early afternoon event at Hose Company #4 in Davenport; and a late afternoon event at the Cedar Rapids Firefighters Memorial; and an evening event with Linn County Democrats at IBEW Local 405 in Cedar Rapids.  A planned appearance at the World Food Prize at Des Moines Marriott at mid-afternoon on October 17 was also cancelled). 
On the evening of October 17 Kerry returned  to attend the Polk County Democrats Fall Harvest and Auction at Izaak Walton League in Des Moines. 
On October 18 he spoke on work development at Black Hawk County Employment Training Center in Waterloo; attended an event with local Democrats at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls; attended an event with local Democrats at Fort Dodge Library in Fort Dodge; and attended a Boone County Democratic dinner at the Boone Cultural Center in Boone.

-Sen. Edwards visited Iowa on October 15, 2003; planned events on October 16  were cancelled due to the vote on Iraq funding.  He participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites in Des Moines; met with Democratic activists at the Uncle Nancy Coffee Shop in Newton; and met with Democratic activists at Grinnell College in Grinnell.  (On October 16 he had planned to have breakfast with local Democratic activists at Ox Yoke Restaurant in Williamsburg; have coffee with Democratic activists at Copper Lantern in Sigourney; and meet with local Democratic activists at Washington Public Library in Washington).

-Rep. Gephardt visited Iowa on October 15, 2003.  He participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites in Des Moines; and met with local Democrats at Metro Market (on Woodland Ave) in Des Moines, hosted by Sen. Dick and Sharon Dearden, Rep. John Connors and Polk Co Supervisor Tom Hockensmith.

-Amb. Moseley Braun visited Iowa on October 15, 2003.  She participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites in Des Moines; and attended a town hall forum at Iowa State University in Ames.

-Rep. Kucinich visited Des Moines, Iowa on October 15, 2003. He did an event at Willkie House (900 17th St) as part of his announcement tour; and participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites. 

-Gov. Dean visited Iowa on October 14-15, 2003.
On October 14 he met local Democrats at Fremont County Savings Bank in Sidney; met local Democrats at The Depot Deli & Lounge in Shenandoah; met local Democrats at The Junction Café in Bedford; met local Democrats at the County Courthouse's community room in Mount Ayr; met local Democrats at Graceland College in Lamoni; met local Democrats at the Lecompte Memorial Library in Corydon; met local Democrats at the Continental Hotel in Centerville; met local Democrats at The Meeting Place in Bloomfield; and attended Lee County Octoberfest at the Ibor Fowler Community Center in Montrose.
On October 15 he met local Democrats at George's Restaurant in Keosauqua; met local Democrats at the Senior Citizen Center in Knoxville; participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites in Des Moines; and attended a reception with Story County Democrats at a private home in Story City.

-Rep. Gephardt visited Iowa on October 11-12, 2003
On October 11 he met with local Democrats at Perry Public Library, hosted by Rep. -Rep. Kucinich visited Iowa on October 11, 2003.   He attended a house party at a private home in Sioux City; attended the 5th District Democrats Central Committee meeting at Cronk's Restaurant in Denison; met with  community members at the home of Sharon Gradischnig in Des Moines; and attended a Sisters on Target Inc. reception at the Downtown Holiday Inn in Des Moines.

-Sen. Edwards visited Iowa on October 7-9, 2003
Starting on the afternoon of October 7 he met with Democratic activists at Sandy's Java Nook in Anamosa; attended a community gathering at Legion Arts at CSPS in Cedar Rapids; and met with Democratic activists at the home of Nick Arensdorf in Tipton. 
On October 8 after doing debate prep in the morning, he had lunch with Democratic activists at Hickory Garden Restaurant in Davenport; had coffee with Democratic activists at the Ivy Bake Shoppe and Café in Fort Madison; attended a community gathering at the Labor Temple in Keokuk; and met with Democratic activists at the Get-To-Gather Room in Bloomfield.
On October 9 he had breakfast with Democrats at Comfort Inn in Oskaloosa; attended a community gathering with Democratic activists at The Coffee Connection in Knoxville; and at noon attended a house party at the home of State Rep. Mark Davitt in Indianola.

-Sen. Kerry visited Western Iowa on October 6-7, 2003.  At midday on October 6 he spoke on senior issues at Council Bluffs Senior Center in Council Bluffs, unveiling his "Compact with the Greatest Generation;" in the late afternoon he held a four county activist event at The Livestock Auction in Dunlap; and in the evening he did an event at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.  On October 7 he spoke on senior issues at Siouxland Senior Center in Sioux City; had lunch with Democrats at Lally's Restaurant in Le Mars; did an event with Democrats at Cherokee Community College in Cherokee; and concluded with an evening event with Democrats at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon.

-Gen. Clark visited Iowa on the afternoon and evening of October 6, 2003.  In Des Moines he dropped by Drake Diner to greet customers; he then participated in the final one of Sen. Harkin's "Hear It from the Heartland" forums at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, and afterwards mingled with participants.

-Gov. Dean held a rally at the University of Iowa's Memorial Union in Iowa City, Iowa on October 5, 2003 part of his "Raise the Roots" tour of college campuses, to kick off Generation Dean Week.

On October 20, 2003 the New York Times' Adam Nagourney reported on Sen. Lieberman's and Gen. Clark's decisions not to compete in Iowa.
