EntertainmentThe Ellipse "will pay homage to the ideals that make America so unique and will feature a variety of musical acts, entertainment, and a fireworks display." (as announced Jan. 13, 2005)
Andrea Bocelli, Opera tenor Fireworks (announced Jan. 14, 2005) Grucci's of New York will produce the fireworks.
They have produced the Inaugural fireworks since 1981.
Note. A planned jump by the U.S. Army's parachute team, the Golden Knights, was cancelled to to the weather. A planned Armed Forces Aerial Review flyover was likewise cancelled due to weather. As announced on Jan. 17 this would have consisted of four Air Force F-16 Falcons, an Air Force B-2 Bomber, two Navy F/A 18 Hornets, three Marine Corps AV-8B Harriers and four Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles performing a missing-man formation.
