Iowa Democratic Field Organization
By June 1 the Coordinated Campaign had hired five regional field directors, 11 field organizers, 20 team leaders and 100 canvassers.  The team leaders and canvassers did door to door contacts starting at the beginning of June; each team leader oversaw five canvassers.  In its final configuration the campaign had 16 regional field directors, 11 GOTV directors and 20 team leaders.

Chasse worked as a field organizer on Kerry's Iowa caucus campaign (according to a NYT article he is a former high-tech consultant who moved his family from Boston to work on the campaign; see Lynette Clemetson and Carl Hulse, "The Long Days Dwindle for Staff Members." New York Times.  Jan. 18, 2004).  After Iowa he ran Kerry's Green Bay office during the Feb. 17 Wisconsin primary campaign.

Region 2 - Clinton, Scott
Regional Field Director - Eric Stern

Director of GLBT outreach at the DNC starting July 14, 2003.  Prior to joining the DNC, Stern was Dorot Law Fellow at the Alliance for Justice (AFJ) in Washington, D.C.; he worked on AFJ's Judicial Selection Project.  Stern earned his law degree from Northeastern School of Law, 2002.   While in law school he worked for the U.S. Department of Justice-Civil Rights Division; the Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C.; the Children's Law Center, Inc.; and Human Rights Campaign (HRC).  Stern earned his B.A. from Marietta College (Ohio) where he led the College Democrats, and volunteered on the 1994 and 1996 campaigns of Rep. Ted Strickland (D-OH) as well as the 1996 Clinton/Gore campaign.  He also interned for Project Vote.

Worked on the Missouri coordinated campaign from June until October before being transferred to Iowa.  Worked in the Kerry's Manchester office during the New Hampshire Primary and served as College Coordinator in the California primary.  Prior to joining the Kerry campaign, Graves worked in Washington DC for the National Venture Capital Association and the Democratic Leadership Council.  He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1999 with degrees in Economics and Political Science.

Before joining the campaign Conley was a legislative aide to State Rep. Paul Shomshor in the Iowa House of Representatives.  He was an original member of the field staff Sen. Bob Graham's Iowa caucus campaign, serving as central Iowa regional director before leaving for school.  In 2002 he was field organizer and early vote coordinator on the Democratic campaign in Woodbury County.  Conley has attended Iowa Central Community College and Iowa State University.
