-Teresa Heinz Kerry is scheduled to visit Iowa starting on January 3, 2003.  On January 3 she plans to do an event with activists at The Boyd Building in Shell Rock; an event with activists at the home of Gloria Goll in Klemme; and an event with activists at Docks Restaurant in Clear Lake.  On January 4 she plans to do an event with activists at Lula's Restaurant in Osage; an event with activists in Northwood; and an event with activists at The Lodge in Forest City.  On January 5 she plans to join her husband for the event with women supporters at Hotel Fort Des Moines in Des Moines.

Kerry for the New Year's Eve Party at Sioux City Community Theater.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on December 20-23, 2003; the theme of the trip is "Fighting for America's Workers."
On December 20 he held a "Conversation with Working Families" press event in Altoona; a "Very 'Kerry'" holiday party at Adventureland Inn in Altoona; an event with area Democrats at DMACC Newton Campus in Newton; and a holiday party at City High School Auditorium in Iowa City.
Starting late on the morning of December 21 he did an event with area Democrats at Happy's Place in Dubuque; a chili feed with firefighters at Village Hall in Davenport; and an event with Democrats at Bluff Elementary School in Clinton.
On December 22-23 he did a 26-hour day of visiting workplaces.  He started with a meeting at Quad City Times in Davenport; did an event at Mississippi Plaza in Davenport; visited the after school program at Waypoint in Cedar Rapids; visited Waterloo Fire Station #1 in Waterloo; did an event at the Floyd County Museum in Charles City; bowled at the Rose Bowl in Mason City; December 23; had a conversation with nurses at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines; visited workers at the Des Moines Register printing press; met and greeted snowplow workers, sewer and street cleaners at 318 5th Street, SE in Council Bluffs; breakfasted with farmers at Oehler Brothers in Missouri Valley; focused on the child tax credit at Boys and Girls Club, Family Service Inc. in Sioux City; and, in a stop that was added on late, held a conversation with families of soldiers at Charlie's Restaurant, Holiday Inn in Sioux City.

-Teresa Heinz Kerry is scheduled to campaign for Kerry in Iowa on December 20-23, 2003.  Early on the evening of December 20 she plans to attend a women's reception at the home of Mike and Connie Gronstal in Council Bluffs.  On December 21 she plans to do an event with Democrats at Mickel's Family Restaurant in Harlan; an event with Democrats at the home of Hope Thelander in Onawa; and event with Democrats at the home of Lenee Sinnott in Ida Grove; and an event with Democrats at Adams Street Bed and Breakfast in Carroll.  On December 22 she plans lunch with Democrats at Old Park Hotel Community Center in Audubon; a roundtable with women at the Hotel Patee in Perry; an event with Democrats at the home of Tom and Karen Polking in Jefferson; and a reception with Democrats at Tea Thyme at Sadie's in Fort Dodge.  On the morning of December 23 she plans an event with Democrats at Second Street Emporium in Webster City.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on December 13-15 and December 16, 2003, kicking off an "Rx for a Better America" tour; most travel done via the Real Deal Express bus. 
On December 13 he did an "Rx for a Better America" event at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids; an event for Rep. Mary Mascher at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa City; and an event with Democrats at the Center for Aging Services, Inc. in Davenport.
On December 14 he did a press conference at the Davenport Radisson Hotel in reaction to Saddam Hussein; held a live, unscripted and unedited town hall meeting with undecided Iowa caucus goers at WQAD Channel 8 News studios in Moline, IL (Quad Cities), broadcast on seven stations across Iowa; met local Democrats at Jerry's Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant; met local Democrats at Fairfield Public Library in Fairfield; met local Democrats at the Get-Togather Room in Bloomfield; and met local Democrats at the Continental Hotel in Centerville.
On December 15 he did an "Rx for a Better America" event at Donna's Place in Chariton; a Des Moines Register ed. board interview; and an "Rx for a Better America" event at Southside Senior Center in Des Moines.  [He then headed to Chicago for a series of fundraising receptions and overnights there].
On December 16 Sen. Kerry returned to Iowa from Chicago and speak on foreign policy at Drake University in Des Moines.

-Former Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia is scheduled to campaign for Kerry in Iowa on December 11-12, 2003.  On December 11 he plans events with veterans and local Democrats at VFW Post No. 3519 in Knoxville; at VFW Post No. 1856 in Fort Dodge; and at the Rose Bowl in Mason City.  On December 12 he plans events with veterans and local Democrats at Star Family Restaurant in Cedar Falls; at Falcon Civic Center in Independence; an event with nurses at the home of Teri Murphy in Dubuque; and an event with veterans and local Democrats at the Eagle's Club in Dubuque.
 

-Congressman Barney Frank is scheduled to campaign for Kerry in Iowa on December 5-7, 2003.  On the evening of December 5 he plans to attend an activist event at the home of Brent Wynja in Ames.  Starting at mid-day on December 6 he plans to have lunch with Democratic activists at Paradise Pizza Café in West Des Moines; attend an activist reception at Grinnell College; and attend an activist reception at Fitzpatrick's in Iowa City.  On December 7 he plans to have brunch with Democratic activists at the home of Peggy Whitworth in Cedar Rapids; and do an event at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on December 1, 2003.  He made remarks on Superfund and received the endorsement of Congressman Earl Blumenauer (OR-3) outside Iowa Illinois Manor (a designated Superfund site, is an apartment complex that was once a coal gasification plant) in Iowa City; attended a Women for Kerry event at The History Center in Cedar Rapids; attended an event with students and Black Hawk County Democrats at University of Northern Iowa's Maucker Union in Cedar Falls; and spoke as part of the ongoing Speaker's Series at Iowa State University in Ames.

Kerry visited Iowa on November 25-26, 2003.  [November 24 schedule, including MSNBC/WHO-TV debate, was scratched so Kerry could help fight the Medicare bill].  On November 25 he spoke on education at Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs; did an event with Democrats at Nuckolls Street Diner in Glenwood; did an event with Democrats at Firehouse Restaurant Brewery in Red Oak; did an event with Democrats at The Depot Deli and Lounge in Shenandoah; did an event with Democrats at Junction Cafe in Bedford; and did an event with Democrats at The Train Depot in Creston.  On November 26 he did an event with Democrats at Lamoni Community Center in Lamoni; and did an event with Democrats at Redmond's Restaurant in Osceola.

On November 14 he toured and made remarks at the Youthbuild construction site at 2121 East Des Moines Street in Des Moines; did an event with local Democrats at the North Side Café in Winterset; did a Democratic event at Tursi's Latin King on the East side of Des Moines; and did a Democratic event at Corigliano's Pizza on the South side of Des Moines.
On November 15 he played ice hockey with Des Moines Fire Fighters at Metro Ice Sports Arena in Urbandale; then spent the rest of the day in downtown Des Moines participating in the Rural Life Forum at Hotel Fort Des Moines in Des Moines; rallying at Capitol Square Atrium in Des Moines; attending the Jefferson Jackson Day Dinner at Veterans Memorial Auditorium; and attending a post-JJ party at Raccoon River Brewing Company.
On November 16 he participated in the Jewish Democratic Presidential Forum at Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines; did an event with local Democrats at Crossroads Sports Bar and Grill in Toledo; did an event with students and local Democrats at Grinnell College in Grinnell; and did an event with local Democrats in the Hotel Ottumwa ballroom in Ottumwa.
On November 17 he opened the campaign's Jasper County office on 1st Avenue West in Newton; and met with small business owners at Zanzibar's Coffee Shop in Des Moines.

Vernon; and did happy hour at The Summit in Iowa City.  On November 15 he met up for a "Kerry Van" to the JJ Dinner at Terrapin Coffee Shop in Coralville; and attended the JJ Dinner and related events in Des Moines.  On November 16 he dropped by the Boone City Firehouse; had lunch with Democrats at the Colorado Grille in Boone; held a roundtable with student leaders at MU at Iowa State University in Ames; held an environommental discussion at the home of Joe and Sue Roberts in Ankeny; and did meet and greet with Drake University students at Cool Beans, the student coffee shop, in Des Moines.
 

-Sen. Kerry did a bus tour with veterans in Iowa on November 10, 2003.  He kicked off the tour at Des Moines Airport; did an event with veterans including Rep. Leonard Boswell at the Paralyzed Veterans of America Building in Des Moines; did an event with veterans at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown; did an event with veterans at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Cedar Rapids; and did an event with veterans at VFW Post No 3949 in Iowa City. -Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on October 31-November 3, 2003, a four-day swing. 
On October 31 starting at the Country House Restaurant in Colo he proceeded to Rte 65 (parallel road between 270th and 280th Streets) where he spoke on agriculture conservation and went on a pheasant hunting trip; he did a Halloween Meet and Greet at Fischer Community Center in Marshalltown; and did an Iowa Public Television taping in Johnston.
On November 1 he spoke on next generation energy at University of Northern Iowa's Agriculture Based Industrial Lubricants Research Program in Waverly; did an event with Democrats at Waverly Public Library in Waverly; did an event with Democrats at Chickasaw County Center in New Hampton; did an event with Democrats at VFW Post No 4561 in Cresco; and did an event with Democrats at Marty’s Café in the Luther College Centennial Union in Decorah.

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on October 22-23, 2003.
On October 22 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City he discussed higher education and had lunch with students at the River Room Cafeteria, IMU, then did a meet and greet with student supporters; next he did a series of events with local Democrats in three counties: at Buc's Steak House in Washington; at Ogo's Restaurant in Montrose; and at Big Muddy's Restaurant in Burlington
On October 23 he breakfasted with Democrats at Thunder Bay Grill in Davenport; spoke on the economy at Tec Industrial in Davenport; had lunch with local Democrats at Bootlegger's Restaurant in Muscatine; did an event with local Democrats at The Cedar Family Restaurant in Tipton; and in the evening attended a fundraiser for State Senator Roger Stewart at The Comfort Inn in Maquoketa. -Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on October 15 and 17-18, 2003.  Planned events on October 16 and an appearance on October 17 were cancelled due to the vote on Iraq funding.
On October 15 he spoke on senior issues at Mason City Public Library; participated in the AARP Presidential Forum at Embassy Suites in Des Moines; and did an event with local Democrats at Taso's Steak House in Oskaloosa
(On October 16 he had planned to do three events with firefighters: a morning event at Hotel Ottumwa in Ottumwa; an early afternoon event at Hose Company #4 in Davenport; and a late afternoon event at the Cedar Rapids Firefighters Memorial; and an evening event with Linn County Democrats at IBEW Local 405 in Cedar Rapids.  A planned appearance at the World Food Prize at Des Moines Marriott at mid-afternoon on October 17 was also cancelled).

-Daughter Vanessa Kerry and stepson Chris Heinz visited Iowa on October 11-13, 2003 to kick off the "Kerry Dorm Storm."  On October 11 they met with students at Simpson College in Indianola; Central College in Pella; and Grinnell College in Grinnell; and wrapped up the day at the Jasper County Soup Supper at UAW Local 997 in Newton.  On October 12 they had lunch with Des Moines University Medical Students at the 3000 Grand Apartment Complex in Des Moines; and attended the Webster County Fall Dinner at the Eagle Restaurant in Fort Dodge.  On October 13 they met with students at Iowa Valley Community College in Iowa Falls; and the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Western Iowa on October 6-7, 2003.  At midday on October 6 he spoke on senior issues at Council Bluffs Senior Center in Council Bluffs, unveiling his "Compact with the Greatest Generation;" in the late afternoon he held a four-county activist event at The Livestock Auction in Dunlap; and in the evening he did an event at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.   On October 7 he spoke on senior issues at Siouxland Senior Center in Sioux City; had lunch with Democrats at Lally's Restaurant in Le Mars; did an event with Democrats at Cherokee Community College in Cherokee; and concluded with an evening event with Democrats at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon.   Counties: Pottawattamie, Harrison, Buena Vista.  Woodbury, Plymouth, Cherokee, O'Brien.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on September 27, 2003.  He addressed Iowa veterans at the Iowa VFW Statewide Convention at Sheraton Four Points in Des Moines; he and Sen. Edward Kennedy will then spoke on health care at Hoover High School on Saturdays in Des Moines, followed by an Iowans for Kerry Barnstorm meeting; Kerry and Kennedy spoke on health care at Payne Memorial AME Church in Waterloo, followed by an Iowans for Kerry Barnstorm meeting; and Kerry and Kennedy attended the annual Johnson County BBQ at Izaak Walton League in Iowa City.  Note: With this visit Iowans for Kerry kicked off a week during which it hosted barnstorming meetings in all 99 counties.   Counties: Polk, Black Hawk, Johnson.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on September 13-15, 2003
On September 13 he joined Story County Democrats and Sen. Harkin at Moore Memorial Park in Ames for a pre-game homecoming tailgate pancake breakfast before the Iowa/Iowa State football game; met with Iowa State student leaders at Maple-Willow-Larch Commons; attended the Harkin Steak Fry in Indianola; and attended a reception at the home of Bob Whittenburg in Spencer
On September 14 he brunched with Democrats and was also interviewed live by CBS' "Face the Nation" at the home of Sen. Jack and Kay Kibbie in Emmetsburg; and lunched with Democrats at the home of Ann and Joe Fitzgibbons in Okoboji.  In the evening he did fundraising in Minnesota, then overnighted in Iowa.
On September 15 he spoke on corporate responsibility at the corner of 3rd Ave. SE and 3rd St. SE in Cedar Rapids (CR being the location of an MCI WorldCom regional office); and met withUniversity of Iowa students at Hubbard Park, University of Iowa in Iowa City.

On August 12 he spoke to Cerro Gordo County Democrats at the Rose Bowl Restaurant on Hwy 65 in Mason City; accompanied by farmers and environmental activists Kerry focused on hog lots, also known as confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs), stopping at Gloria Goll's home in the Klemme area and speaking in front of a closed CAFO near Goll's house; he attended a reception with Kossuth County Democrats at the Chrome Country Inn at Hwy 18 and Hwy 169 in Algona; drove by more CAFOs; and attended a Hamilton County Democratic Reception at Webster City Convention Center in Webster City.
On August 13 he attended the Iowa Head Start Conference at First Baptist Church in Johnston; visited the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines; participated in the Iowa Federation of Labor's presidential forum and returned for the subsequent reception at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo; and attended a reception at the Two Brothers Restaurant in Independence.
On August 14 in Des Moines he attended a 21st Century Forum breakfast at the Hotel Fort Des Moines; had lunch with African American leaders, hosted by former State Rep. Willie Glanton, at Corinthian Baptist Church; and participated in the Governor's Conference on Public Health at Drake University; he attended a Marion County Democratic reception at the home of Maureen Nichols in Knoxville; and had coffee with Jasper County Democrats at Uncle Nancy's Coffee Shop in Newton.
On August 15 he had breakfast with Benton County Democrats at the Lickety Split Restaurant in Vinton; he had meetings with local Democrats in the Linn County and Johnson County throughout the afternoon; and in the evening participated in the Hawkeye Labor Conference presidential forum at Teamsters Hall in Cedar Rapids.

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on July 25-26, 2003.  On the afternoon of July 25 he met with downtown business leaders in Ames and had refreshments with Story County Democrats at the American Country Store in Ames; in the evening he attended Rep. Mark Smith's annual barbeque at the Anson Park Shelter in Marshalltown (Smith endorsed Kerry); and attended the AFSCME People Conference Auction at Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Des Moines. On July 26 he breakfasted with Warren County Democrats at the home of Gary and Ann Kendell in Indianola; and hosted a country barbeque at his Iowa campaign headquarters on Locust Street in Des MoinesCounties: Story, Marshall, Polk, Warren.

Kerry visited Iowa on July 18-19, 2003.  On July 18 he had coffee with Des Moines County Democrats at UAW Local 807 in Burlington; lunched with Henry County Democrats at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant; and attended a Fort Madison--Lee County Democrats volunteer thank you event at Newberry Senior Center in Fort Madison.  On July 19 he breakfasted with Scott County Democrats and discussed the economy and jobs at United Steel Workers of America Local 105 in Bettendorf; lunched with Jackson County Democrats at the Flapjack Family Restaurant in Maquoketa; had coffee with Jones County Democrats at the National Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame in Anamosa [photo]; and attended Dubuque County Democratic reception at Julien Inn in Dubuque. Kerry visited Iowa on June 23, 2003.  He breakfasted with Johnson County Democrats at the Iowa River Power Company Restaurant in Coralville; visited the farm of Tom and Becky Furlong in Muscatine County; and spoke at a Democratic reception at the Machine Shed in Davenport.  Counties: Johnson, Muscatine, Scott.

Kerry visited Iowa on June 21, 2003.  He participated in the Jasper County Democrats' "America's Hometown Forum" at Newton High; participated in the Hear it from the Heartland Forum at The Music Man Square, Streetscape in Mason City; spoke at a Truman Fund Reception in Mason City; and spoke at a Charles City reception at Iowa Title and Realty Company in Charles City. -Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on June 12-13 and June 14, 2003.  On the evening of June 12 he appeared at a Linn Phoenix Club reception at the home of Bob Rush in Cedar Rapids.  On the morning of June 13 he  delivered a speech on energy independence at VFW Hall Post 788 in Cedar Rapids.  --On the evening of June 13 he  addressed the Wisconsin Democratic Convention in Milwaukee.--  Returning to Iowa on June 14, he toured the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque; spoke at a Flag Day fundraiser for state Rep. Don Shoultz at the Shoultzs' home in Waterloo; spoke at a Fayette and Buchanan County Democratic reception in Oelwein; and spoke at a reception for state Rep. -Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on May 29-30, 2003.  On May 29 in Sioux City he discussed national service at the VFW post; attended a Sioux City Truman Club reception at the home of former state Sen. Steve Hanson; and attended a Sioux City Democratic reception at the Sanford Community Center.  On the morning of May 30 he made remarks on veterans prescription drug legislation with Rep. Leonard Boswell at the Beaverdale VFW in Des Moines; in the late afternoon he attend an Ottumwa Democratic reception at the VFW hall in Ottumwa; and attended a Burlington Democratic Reception at the Port of Burlington Welcome Center in BurlingtonCounties: Woodbury, Polk, Wapello, Des Moines.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on May 14 and 16, 2003.  On the evening of May 14 he attended a Democratic reception at The Pizza King in Council Bluffs.  However, the planned schedule for May 15-16 was scrapped when a critical vote on tax cuts in the Senate prompted him to return to Washington, DC on May 15.   (On May 15 in Des Moines he planned to tour Mercy Medical Center and deliver a health care speech at Holiday Inn Mercy Campus; attend a Sioux City Truman Club reception at the home of former State Sen. Steve Hanson in Sioux City; and attend a Democratic activists reception at the Sanford Community Center in Sioux City.  On May 16 he plans breakfast with Democrats at Cronks in Denison; coffee with Carroll County Democrats at Carrollton Inn in Carroll and lunch in Boone with local Democrats at Tic Toc Restaurant). Kerry returned and on May 16 in Des Moines he toured Mercy Medical Center and delivered a major health care speech at Holiday Inn Mercy Campus; did private meetings; and attended the AFSCME reception at the Polk County Convention Complex.  [Kerry participated in the AFSCME town meeting on May 17 via satellite from New Hampshire].  Counties: Pottawattamie, Polk.

On April 6 he attended a reception with Democrats at the home of Rep. Swati and Arvind Dandekar in Marion; attended a reception with Democrats at the home of Carol and Cammi McGuire in Clinton; and attended the Scott County Democrats Spring Dinner at Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport
On April 7 he had a private meeting with labor leaders [photo] in Davenport; toured and met with students, teachers and administrators at Johnson Art Elementary School in the Cedar Rapids area; met privately with labor leaders in Cedar Rapids; and did a reception with Democrats [photo] at Beck's Pub and Grille in Waterloo
On the morning of April 8 he did a breakfast with women leaders at Hotel Fort Des Moines in Des Moines; addressed the House Democratic Caucus in the State Capitol, and addressed the Senate Democratic Caucus in the State Capitol.  Counties: Linn, Clinton, Scott, Linn, Black Hawk, Polk.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Des Moines, Iowa on March 8, 2003. He met privately with central Iowa Latino leaders, and with supporters, and delivered the keynote address at the Drake Law School's annual Supreme Court Celebration banquet at the downtown Marriott. Counties: Polk.
 

-Sen. Kerry visited Iowa on January 17-19, 2003.  On January 17 he did some private meetings.  On January 18, he started the day in Des Moines with a breakfast with reporters at Hotel Fort Des Moines and a breakfast with activists at Centro.  He did an activists lunch at the home of Nancy Swisher, Gary Smith, and Sarah Swisher in Iowa City, and in the evening to spoke at the Linn County Democratic Sustaining Club Banquet at the Prairie Hill Pavilion in Marion.  Kerry overnighted in Dubuque; on January 19 in Dubuque he attended services at St. Joseph the Worker Church and then an activists luncheon at the home of Teri and John Goodman.  Counties: Polk, Johnson, Linn, Dubuque.

Kerry visited Iowa on June 29, 2002.  He campaigned for 4th district congressional candidate John Norris at a house party in Ackworth, did a rally with 2nd district congressional candidate Dr. Julie Thomas at SEIU Local 199 Hall in Coralville (Iowa City), did a Truman Fund reception at a home in Cedar Rapids, and did a Truman Fund fundraiser at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids (one event was for $50-$500 donors and the other was a "low dollar event" for a suggested contribution of $20).  Counties: Warren, Johnson, Linn.
