Kerry Announces Key Endorsements from Former State Democratic Party Chair, Tennessee Democratic Party Executive Committee Members

Nashville, TN—John Kerry announced today that Bill Farmer, a former Democratic Party Chair and several Tennessee Democratic Party State Executive Committee members have endorsed his campaign for president.

“This is the most important election in my life.  I believe that John Kerry’s record of great courage as a young soldier in Vietnam and as a Senator shows him to be the kind of man who will act for the good of all,” stated Bill Farmer.  Farmer served as Tennessee State Democratic Party Chair from 2001-2003.

“I am proud to have Tennessee Democrats supporting me and I am especially proud that Tennessee’s hardworking people, veterans and retirees are the backbone of my campaign.  We share the same determination that Americans deserve good jobs and the right education,” said John Kerry.

A February 1 Mason Dixon poll conducted for the Nashville Tennessean and Chattanooga Times Free Press showed John Kerry as the only Democrat to hold George W. Bush to a statistical tie in a head-to-head match up.  Kerry also led the field of Democratic candidates by nine points when voters were asked which candidate they preferred.
