On December 4, 2002, Sen. Kerry filed papers with the FEC establishing John Kerry for President Inc., an exploratory committee.  James M. Jordan served as the national campaign manager through November 9, 2003; he was replaced by Mary Beth Cahill, who previously served as chief of staff to Sen. Edward Kennedy.

State Director George Twigg
(announced Sept. 17 2003, officially started Oct. 1, 2003)  Twigg has been in Wisconsin for the past five years.  Before the campaign he had been doing media communications on the Senate Chief Clerk's staff; he has worked for the Democratic Leaders of both the Assembly and Senate in Wisconsin.  He also worked for former U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett’s campaign for Governor.  Prior to moving to Wisconsin, Twigg was a press intern in Kerry’s Washington, DC Senate office.  Twigg is a native of Gilmanton, NH; he started out in Democratic politics in 1994, as a volunteer for Wayne King's gubernatorial campaign in the Granite State. 
 
 
Field Director Dave Barnhart
(late Jan. or early Feb. 2004; took over from Faith Dickerhoof)  Western regional field director for Kerry's Iowa campaign starting March 1, 2003 and continuing through the Jan. 19, 2004 caucuses.  Regional campaign manager for three successful legislative races in Western Iowa in 2002.  Vice-president of sales for the University Travel Corporation in Virginia.  Served on the board of directors for Camp L.E.A.D. (Leadership, Education, and Diversity).  B.S. in psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Faith Dickerhoof

(announced Sept. 17 2003 as field director, officially started in that capacity on Oct. 1, 2003)  Dickerhoof came to the campaign from her position as Field Director for the Ohio Democratic Party.  Prior to that she was Central Ohio Regional Policy Coordinator for the American Lung Association's Tobacco Free Ohio campaign.  Dickerhoof graduated from Ohio University in Athens with a degree in Political Science; she was president of the OU College Democrats.

(Feb. 2004)  Ran Kerry's North Dakota campaign, after serving as political director for his Iowa campaign starting in June 2003. Communications director for the Iowa Democratic Party from January 2003.  Communications director for the House and Senate Caucus, April-Dec. 2002.  Press secretary to Congressman Ken Lucas of Kentucky in Washington, DC from January 2000. 
 
Deputy Political Director Julie Andreeff
Andreeff worked on Kerry's Iowa caucus campaign starting in August 2003; after the caucuses she went on to North Dakota before arriving in Wisconsin.  Andreeff left her position as an associate at Powell Goldstein Frazer and Murphy LLP in Washington, DC to join Kerry's campaign.  She is a graduate of American University's Washington College of Law.
 
 
Scheduling Linda Chappetto
Deputy political director/scheduler for Kerry's Iowa campaign (started on the campaign there in Feb. 2003).  Assistant to First Lady Kristi Vilsack on the Vilsack-Pederson campaign in 2002.  Worked on a state assembly race in Wisconsin in 2000.  Graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville with a degree in political science and sociology.

Press secretary for Rep. Dick Gepardt's presidential campaign in Iowa starting in May 2003.  Previously served as press secretary to Sen. Tom Harkin, 2001-03. Earlier worked for U.S. Rep. Bill Luther.  Originally from Buffalo, NY.
 
Press Secretary Cyril Dadd
Director of research/press assistant for Kerry's Iowa caucus campaign.  Recently earned Master's degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.  Worked as an intern with the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, and project coordinator with Africare in South Africa.  B.A. from Tulane University.  Originally from Massachusetts.
