Sen. Kerry rallied with firefighters at Somerville Street Fire Station in Manchester, NH on the afternoon of September 29, 2003. This followed on the IAFF's endorsement of Kerry last week; IAFF president Harold Schaitberger and Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire president Dave Lang spoke at the rally. Rep. Gephardt visited NH on September 28-29, 2003. On September 28 he addressed seniors and local voters at Robert F. Shaw Community Hall in Manchester; attended a house party hosted by Bev Hollingworth and Bill Gilligan in Hampton; and attended house party hosted by Bruce and Ann May in Rochester. Sen. Kerry received the endorsement of former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen in a press conference at his Manchester, NH campaign headquarters on the morning of September 23, 2003. Sen. Kerry visited NH on September 20, 2003. He attended "meet the candidate" events at the Keene State Student Center in Keene; at Dusty's Diner in Claremont, and at New England College in Henniker; and concluded with a social at Tower Cafe in Manchester to thank supporters, staff, and volunteers participating in the "Big K" canvassing weekend (Sept. 20-21). Rep. Kucinich visited NH on September 20, 2003. He started with a fundraiser at Susty's on Rte. 4 in Northwood ('"must visit' spot for health food advocates"); rallied at UNH in Durham; and attended the New Hampshire Rolling Thunder "Down Home Democracy" event at Veterans Park in Manchester. Sen. Edwards visited NH on September 17, 2003. The main event was a town meeting on the State House lawn in Concord; he then attended an AARP meeting in Manchester; and appeared on The Dan Pierce Show on WGIR in Manchester. Sen. Lieberman visited NH on September
14-15, 2003 as part of "Operation: Liebermania." (On September
13 volunteers kicked off a statewide canvass.) On September 14-15

Gov. Dean visited NH for a full day on September 12, 2003. He did grand rounds and unveiled his mental health policy at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon; hold a meet-the-candidate event at Plymouth State University in Plymouth; held a discussion with the New Hampshire Mental Health Coalition at Centennial Inn in Concord; held a meet-the-candidate event at Bektash Temple (Shriners Building) in Concord; attended Manchester Glendi (Greek Festival) at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Manchester; and attended a house party at the home of at the home of Scott and Judy Brody in Windham. Rep. Kucinich visited NH on the afternoon of September 12, 2003. He had an ed. board meeting with the Concord Monitor and participated in the New Hampshire AFL-CIO's "Conversations with the Candidates" at the NH AFL-CIO offices in Hooksett. Sen. Edwards visited NH on September 8-9, 2003. Starting late afternoon on September 8 he participated in a NH AFL-CIO forum at Plumbers and Pipefitters Hall in Hooksett; and held a town hall meeting at Merrimack Town Hall. On the morning of September 9 he addressed "Politics & Eggs" at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford; and visited with local voters at Marryanne's Diner in Derry. Sen. Kerry visited NH on the morning of September 6, 2003; he met with voters at the grand opening of his Salem campaign office at 11 Red Roof Lane. Sen. Kerry visited NH on September 3, 2003 as part of his formal announcement tour. He, wife Teresa, their children and Kerry's Vietnam crewmates arrived at Manchester Airport; he met with half a dozen unemployed New Hampshire residents at Mary Ann's Diner in Derry to talk about how the economy's downturn has affected their lives; spoke to supporters at a rally outside of his state headquarters in Manchester; Kerry wife Teresa, their children, the Vietnam crewmates and some 300 supporters then boarded buses to "Kerry-Van" from Manchester to Boston, where Kerry formally announced his candidacy at Faneuil Hall. Rep. Gephardt visited NH on September 1-2, 2003. On September 1 he spoke at the New Hampshire AFL-CIO Labor Day breakfast at Chateau Restaurant in Manchester; participated in an economic roundtable at the campaign's office on Water Street in Nashua; marched in the Milford Labor Day parade in Milford; met voters at the New Hampshire for Health Care/SEIU picnic at Veterans Park in Manchester; and attended a house party hosted by John Kacavas in Manchester. On September 2 he greeted Manchester teachers attending orientation at Memorial High School in Manchester; and spoke at "Politics and Eggs" at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford. Sen. A U G U S T (18 1/2 visits - 40 days) Gov. Dean visited NH on August 30, 2003. He attended a house party co-hosted by State Reps. Jack Pratt and McKim Mitchell at Pratt's home in Walpole; attended a pig roast at the home of Paul Twomey in Chichester; attended a house party at the home of Doug Dean in Bedford; attended a house party at the home of Sherri and Jim Woolsey, with Linda Kipnes, in Hudson; and attended a house party at the home of Barbara and Harlow Carpenter in Kensington. Rep. Kucinich visited NH on August 28-29, 2003. Arriving in Portsmouth on the afternoon of August 28 from a lunch in Beverly, MA, he held a press conference at Market Square; that evening he held a town meeting at South Church; and he overnighted at the Sise Inn, a locally owned bed and breakfast. On August 29 he met with Portsmouth Herald editors; had lunch with Portsmouth area Democrats; and held a press conference (mass transit) at the Amtrak Station in Dover, before proceeding on to Portland, ME. Sen. Kerry visited NH on August 28, 2003. He unveiled his national economic plan in a speech to the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire in Durham; participated in an NH AFL-CIO presidential forum at SEIU Local 1984 in Concord; and that evening attended a house party at the home of Margie Ives in Derry. Rep. Gephardt visited NH on August 24, 2003. He began with a couple of diner visits in Manchester--Belmont Hall and Restaurant on Grove Street and Julien's Corner on Bridge Street; met voters at Assumption Greek Church Festival in Manchester; met local voters at the “Race Against Leukemia” at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon; attended the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers' Lobster Bake at Portsmouth Naval Yard; and attended a barbecue for supporters and local voters at Bob and Pat Demers’ Hob Nob Farm in Dover. (Gephardt overnighted in NH and left early the next morning for Chicago). Sen. Kerry visited Nashua, NH on the afternoon of August 23, 2003. He made a speech on his proposals regarding veterans to a group of veterans at the Purple Heart Memorial in Deschenes Oval Park and held an open house at his Nashua office on East Pearl Street. Rep. Kucinich visited NH on August 22, 2003. He appeared on NHPR's "The Exchange" in Concord; had lunch with residents at the Pub Restaurant and did a downtown walk in Keene, stopping by the fire department; did an ed board meeting at the Keene Sentinel; appeared at Dublin Public Library in Dublin (after the public appearance, Kucinich met there with volunteers for a serious talk about the campaign's seeming lack of focus and interest in NH); had a private dinner at Aqua Bistro in Peterborough; and spoke at Harlow's Deli & Cafe in Peterborough. Sen. Lieberman visited NH on August 18-20, 2003 in a "Joe's Jobs Tour" working vacation--when he wasn't making Joe's Jobs Tour stops, he spent time with his family in Wolfeboro on Lake Winnipesaukee. At mid-day on August 18 he toured the factory and met with employees at Noyes Fiber Systems in Belmont. On August 19 he met with employees and area business leaders at Mount Washington Valley Economic Council-The Technology Village in Conway; and toured the factory and participated in a roundtable discussion with employees at Hexaport, Inc. in Berlin. On August 20 he walked down Main Street in Rochester with Mayor Walter Hoerman; discussed the economy with Mayor Hoerman and city employees at City Hall; and spoke to and meet with employees at Fisher Scientific in Hampton. Rep. Kucinich opened his headquarters on Elm Street in Manchester, NH on August 11, 2003. Rep. Gephardt visited NH on August 8-11,
2003. On August 8 he participated in a roundtable on the
economy with local workers and business owners at Old Ferry Landing in
Portsmouth; participated in another roundtable at Joe King's Shoes in Concord;
met with SEIU NH leadership at the State Employees Association office in
Concord; and did meet and greet with local Democrats at Claremont Elks
Lodge in Claremont. Gephardt overnighted in NH. On August
9 he did a Teamsters endorsement tour, rallying in Detroit, MI and
Des Moines, IA, before returning to Manchester, NH for a Teamsters endorsement
rally and multi-union barbecue with Teamsters General President James P.
Hoffa and rank and file members at JFK Coliseum in Manchester in the early
evening. On August 10 and 11 in Portsmouth he filmed scenes
for television advertising as well as doing some in-state interviews and
informally meeting with voters.

He spoke to the NEA-NH's annual summer conference at the Grand Summit Resort in Bartlett; continued his Town Hall Tour with a town hall-style ice cream social at the North Conway Community Center Gazebo; and held a Town Hall Meeting at Berlin City Hall. Gov. Dean campaigned in NH on the morning of August 2, 2003. J U L Y (16 1/2 visits - 32 days) Sen. Kerry visited NH on July 30-31, 2003. On July 30 he held a "Fresh Air Forum" at Hilton Park in Dover. (The first of these summer park events was held in Lebanon at the end of June). On the morning of July 31 he did a roundtable discussion with workers who are struggling in the Bush economy at 150 Dow Street in Manchester. (This is a vacant, prime high tech space of about 23,000 square feet. It was renovated in 2001 for a high tech firm to move in, but the high tech firm went bankrupt and never moved in and the space has been vacant since then). Sen. Edwards visited NH on July 27-28, 2003. On July 27 he continued his Town Hall Tour at Greeley Park in Nashua; did a town hall meeting at Depot Park in Peterborough; and attended a B.B.Q. to benefit the Derry Democratic Committee at Jean Cleary's residence in Derry. On July 28 he toured Child Health Services in Manchester and talked with health care workers there; unveiled his health care plan at Manchester Community Health Center; and continued his Town Hall Tour at Belknap Mill in Laconia. Gov. Dean visited NH on July 22-23, 2003. Starting on the morning of July 22 he held an open house at the campaign's Lebanon office; did a "house call" on health care at Elliot Hospital Convention Center in Manchester; attended a shortcake social at The Courtyard of One Harbor Place in Portsmouth; and attended a house party at the home of Bev Hollingworth in Hampton. On July 23 he appeared on NHPR's "The Exchange;" spoke to seniors at the Havenwood retirement community in Concord; stopped by Mayor Bob Baines' campaign filing rally in Manchester; attended a house party at Hackleboro Orchards in Canterbury; and attended a meet the candidate picnic at Leavitt Park Club House in Lakeport (Laconia). Sen. Lieberman visited NH on July 18, 2003. He toured and made a major speech unveiling his manufacturing policy initiative at Diversified Optical Products in Salem as part of "Joe's Jobs Tour;" visited Fecteau's Country Store in Epping; and taped "Conversation with the Candidate" at WMUR Studios in Manchester. Sen. Graham visited NH on July 17-19, 2003. On July 17 he delivered a major economic policy speech at Page Belting Co. in Concord; and did meet and greet at Race Fever 2003 on Main Street in downtown Concord. On July 18 he spoke at the Politics & Eggs forum at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford and did meetings the rest of the day. On July 19 he spent the morning in Exeter, doing meet and greet at Loaf and Ladle Restaurant, and then touring the Revolutionary War Festival downtown; in the afternoon he met and greeted race fans at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon. Sen. Edwards visited NH on July 15-16, 2003. On July 15 he is held a town hall meeting with Seacoast voters at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, the second of his Summer Town Hall Tour. On the morning of July 16 he discussed his plan to spur job growth at Cirtronics, Inc. in Milford. Gov. Dean visited NH on July 10, 2003. He made a "house call" visit to Derry Medical Center; attended a house party at the home of Andy LaBrie and Steve Green in Concord; and attended a house party at the home of Rep. Chris Hamm in Hopkinton. Sen. Kerry visited NH on July 8-9, 2003. On the evening of July 8 he attended house parties at the home of Bob and Jen Lucic in Concord and at the Reische home in Manchester. On July 1 he held a meet the candidate event hosted by Somersworth Chamber
at the American Legion Hall in Rollinsford; did a downtown walk in Portsmouth
and received the endorsement of Martha Fuller Clark at press conference
in front of the Old North Church; and attended a meet the candidate event
hosted by Fisher Scientific in Hampton. On July 2 he went live from
11:15 to 11:30 am on "Open Mic with Dan Mitchell," WKBK radio, 1290 AM,
in Keene; and in the evening he attended an open house at headquarters
on McGregor Street in Manchester.
