July 24, 2003--RNC Deputy Chairman Maria Cino (center) talks with Ann E.W. Stone, chairman of Republicans for Choice.  Cino recently left her position as Assistant Secretary and Director General of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service at the U.S. Department of Commerce to come back to work at the RNC, succeeding Jack Oliver.  She has extensive experience in Republican politics.  Cino served as National Political Director of Bush for President in during the 2000 primaries, and later in the 2000 cycle was RNC Deputy Chairman for Political and Congressional Relations; worked as a public policy and government affairs consultant for the law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding in Washington, D.C; was Executive Director and COO of the NRCC from 1993-97; and served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Bill Paxon.
