Overview: This debate "focused on the state of the economy and other financial issues facing Americans today."

Candidates: Carol Moseley Braun, Wesley Clark, Howard Dean, John Edwards, Dick Gephardt, Bob Graham, John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich, Joseph Lieberman, and Al Sharpton.

Moderator: NBC News' Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of CNBC's "The News with Brian Williams."

Ron Insana - co-anchor of CNBC's "Business Center with Ron Insana and Sue Herera."
Gloria Borger - co anchor of CNBC's "Capital Report with Alan Murray and Gloria Borger."
Jerry Seib - Washington bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal.

Audience: The debate took place at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts which seats approximately 650 people; free tickets were distributed between the presidential campaigns, the DNC, Pace University, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal and NBC.

Format: No opening and closing statements.  60 seconds for each answer and rebuttals of 30 seconds may be allowed at the moderator's request and/or a candidate's.  There were three commercial breaks.

Broadcast: Live on CNBC; rebroadcast on MSNBC at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Notes and Observations: This was the first debate in which Wesley Clark participated so much of the media's attention focused on him.  However, the other candidates steered away from criticisms of Clark.
