Post-Debate Activity (i.e. spin)
Columbia, SC, May 3, 2003--Donna Dewitt, president of the South Carolina AFL-CIO, was also in the spin room.  She said that "...for working people in general it's important that these candidates address the issues and look beyond all of the weapons of mass distraction that have been going on under the Bush Administration and focus on the real issues."  Dewitt said the Department of Labor figures show there are about 81,000 union members in South Carolina; she estimated one-third of those are retired members.  "We have approximately 21-22,000 members that are affiliated," Dewitt stated.
