-Rev. Sharpton participated in the Brown & Black Forum at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines, Iowa on the evening of January 11, 2004.


2003

-Rev. Sharpton participated in the presidential debate sponsored by the DNC and MSNBC/WHO-TV at the Polk County Convention Center in Des Moines, Iowa on November 24, 2003.
 

-Rev. Sharpton participated in Sen. Harkin's Hear It From the Heartland Forum at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa on August 6, 2003.  He did a local TV interview and met with local Democratic leaders before the event.
 

-Rev. Sharpton participated in the Jasper County Democrats' "America's Hometown Forum" at Newton High in Newton, Iowa on June 21, 2003.
 

-Rev. Sharpton participated in the AFSCME town meeting at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines, Iowa on May 17, 2003.
 

-Rev. Sharpton visited Iowa on February 10-11, 2003.   On February 10 he met with party officials and labor leaders, spoke to students at DMACC in Des Moines and attended a rally at Union Baptist Church.
 

2002
-Rev. Sharpton visited Des Moines, Iowa on February 26, 2002, as part of what was billed "Getting to Know You Tour."   He breakfasted with local clergy at the Creative Visions Center, had lunch with officials and community leaders at Corinthian Baptist Church, spoke at Des Moines Area Community College, and preached at Union Baptist Church.
