CONNECTICUT 7 Electoral Votes

There was not much presidential campaign activity as Leslie O'Brien, executive director of the Connecticut Democratic Party, explains: "The simple fact is that we are/were a blue state and the Kerry Campaign and the DNC didn't put any resources into this state.  We didn't have ACT, or any 527's focusing on our statewide operation...  We didn't even get literature or lawn signs - we had to purchase Kerry Edwards paraphernalia through our own fundraising efforts here at the state party."

There was a big political story in Connecticut in 2004, and that was the resignation amid scandal of Gov. John Rowland (R); his successor Gov. M. Jodi Rell (R) was sworn in July 1, 2004.
