Newspaper Endorsements
BUSH
Salt Lake City Tribune (10/24/04)
This endorsement was not exactly glowing.  In letters to the editor, readers noted it was "tepid," "reads like satire," and "lists mistake after mistake."  Reader Ken Roach suggested it was due to the fact that the paper's "CEO, William Dean Singleton, is a longtime friend and financial supporter of President Bush."

Third Party and Independent
Nader Ballot Access
Submitted the required 1,000 signatures to appear on the ballot as an independent.  The Green Party of Utah split into factions between Cobb (Sept. 15, 2004 press release) and Nader and ultimately did not certify a candidate for the ballot.  Some members of the Green Party of Utah held an emergency convention to nominate Cobb and then filed a suit in 3rd District Court on September 8 after the State Elections Director declined to place him on the ballot, but that effort did not succeed.
