Observations: Translation... Man: What's wrong, love, why are you so sad? Woman: They just called me, Mom is very ill in the Havana hospital. And she doesn't have much time left. I don’t know if I should go now or wait to go later. Man: I don’t understand why you have to decide that now? Woman: Because President Bush has imposed restrictions to visit my family. Man: What restrictions? Woman: Before we could travel to Cuba once a year but now Bush has made it more difficult and we can only visit family once every three years! I don’t know if I should go now to see her one last time or wait to attend her funeral. Man: What misfortune. President Bush continues separating our families. Woman: I don’t know what to do, Pedro! I don’t know what to do. Man: Look, the only thing we can do, my love, is to change things. We have to elect a president that understands the meaning of families in our culture. And we know that John Kerry is that man. Narrator: John Kerry, our hope for a better future. John Kerry: I’m John Kerry, I’m running for president, and I approved this message. |
