Blogs for Bush
Matt Margolis launched Blogs for
Bush on Election Day 2003. In his welcome note he writes "...we sought to organize bloggers who
support President Bush and provide resources to help the Bush campaign
reach millions of supporters and voters online." Margolis further
states, "Many doubted that Blogs For Bush could succeed. Howard Dean
had amassed a blogroll of roughly ninety bloggers at the peak of his
candidacy - and that was considered huge. John Kerry only accumulated
fifty-five. Well, when John Kerry accepted his party's nomination, our
Blogroll For Bush had over seven hundred and fifty blogs and it is
still growing today! The overwhelming success of Blogs For Bush, and
the power of the community that forms the Blogroll For Bush, lays to
rest forever the media stereotype that liberals dominate the
blogosphere."
Firefighters for Bush
Jason (Jay) Reimer, a
Captain in the Reedley Fire Department in
Reedley, CA and David Powell, the Reedley Fire Chief,
registered FirefightersForBush.com in January 2004 "with the idea of countering the IAFF's political
statements." According to its Statement of Purpose:
"Firefighters for Bush is a loose-knit,
grassroots organization with three very clear, very simple goals:
To counter the IAFF's mischaracterization
of firefighters as "offended" by President Bush's campaign ads.
To provide a public voice for those firefighters who wish to declare
their support for President Bush. To empower America's
firefighters to fight back against the IAFF and the misrepresentation
of firefighters by the media."
Babes for Bush
Babes for Bush produced
a calendar and more recently a cookbook "Babes For
Bush Cookbook: Second Term Selections." According to the site,
"Babes for Bush is a grassroots
organization founded in late 1999. We have continually worked to spread
the news that we have a leader worthy of our pride and praise.
"A babe is someone who has internal as
well as external beauty, which defies age and gender. A Babe for Bush
is one who shares President George W. Bush's values of God, family and
country, living a life with high character and integrity."
Security Moms for Bush
Launched in June 2004 by a woman from Ossining, New York. She writes on the site:
"...if we do not take the proper steps to win this war on terror
NOW, the domestic issues will never matter. If
we do not take steps NOW to prevent as best we
can future terrorist attacks in the U.S., who cares if we
have campaign finance laws? If we don’t show these terrorists that we
are the superpower, that we are NOW, and that
they can’t mess with us NOW, they will win."
"George W.
Bush has demonstrated the determination we all should admire.
Think what you want about other political issues with this current
administration. But next time you see the President speak about our WAR
on terror, really look into his eyes. I have. He is a man
determined to do the best for our country, our future, our
children’s’ future, his children’s future."
AirLine Pilots for
Bush Alliance
Leaders of the Alliance are
Captain Bob Cox (National Chairman ), Captain Bob Giuda (Deputy
Coalition Chairman and the Northeast
Regional Director), F/O Curtis Dupree
(Southeast Regional Director), Captain Mike McConnell
(Florida State Coordinator), and F/O Bill Lance (North Carolina State
Coordinator).
According to the website:
"Some
airline pilot labor associations grossly misrepresent their members by
dishonestly insinuating that their members universally support a
specific candidate or specific party's agenda. Airline Pilots for Bush
was launched to support the re-election of President Bush through a
grassroots effort and to counter misrepresentation by labor
associations...
Airline Pilots for Bush
represents a diverse group of professional airline pilots who support a
political viewpoint that leads to strong national security, a
prosperous economy, and opportunity for all who are willing to become
productive, responsible members of American society."
Pastors for Bush
Dr. David O. Dykes, Pastor
of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, is Chairman of Pastors
For Bush. On his site he writes:
"We are currently in the BIGGEST WAR in
American History, and it is NOT the war against terrorism. We're
fighting a CULTURE WAR for the minds and souls of our citizens. As we
watch, our moral foundation—based on God's Word—is being dismantled
before our eyes.
"As the Psalmist asks, "If the
foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3) One
thing the righteous can do is to work to see that our President is
someone who recognizes the need to maintain Biblical standards. Our
President is not perfect, but I believe he is a praying man and he
wants to preserve those moral absolutes that made us great."
Jews for Bush
Mark Levin, President of the American Freedom Center in Austin, Texas,
is Executive Director of Jews for Bush. The site lists a
14-person board of directors (Phil Aronoff, Edward Blum, Eddy Daniels,
David Horowitz, Barbara Ledeen, Seth Leibsohn, Michael Medved, Gary
Pollard, Adam Ross, Alan Sager, Rabbi Aryeh Spero, Lee Troy, Gerald
Walpin adn Ken Weinstein). Mission Statement:
"The
purpose of Jews for Bush is to rally support for President Bush in the
Jewish community and inform the public about Bush's record of unifying
Americans of all faiths and backgrounds. Jews for Bush will highlight
the common bonds shared by Americans of all faiths who treasure the
freedoms on which this country was founded and stress the importance of
re-electing a President whose strong leadership is vital to preserving
these freedoms. Jews for Bush will educate Americans about the
President's outstanding record of fighting terrorism, supporting
Israel, lowering taxes, and empowering faith-based organizations to
assist Americans in need."

9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America
This website launched on Aug. 27, 2004. The conclusion of
the group's "Open Letter to America" reads as follows:
"As Americans who have keenly felt the
scourge of terrorism, we are inspired and energized to follow the
President's lead, to rise to the occasion and get the job done.
We are deeply grateful to President Bush, who rallied this nation on
that dark September day, who has earned our respect and confidence, and
whose leadership we trust to steer this country on the right path.
"Three years ago, George W. Bush stood with us and vowed that he would
'Never forget.'"
"We stand with him now."
