Sen. Kerry rallied with firefighters at Somerville Street Fire Station in Manchester, NH on the afternoon of September 29, 2003. This followed on the IAFF's endorsement of Kerry last week; IAFF president Harold Schaitberger and Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire president Dave Lang spoke at the rally. Rep. Gephardt visited NH on September 28-29, 2003. On September 28 he addressed seniors and local voters at Robert F. Shaw Community Hall in Manchester; attended a house party hosted by Bev Hollingworth and Bill Gilligan in Hampton; and attended house party hosted by Bruce and Ann May in Rochester. On September 29 he addressed seniors and local voters at Arel Manor Community in Nashua. Sen. Kerry visited NH on the morning of September 28, 2003 to make a video for the IAFF. Gen. Clark visited NH on
September 26-27,
2003.
Sen. Kerry received the endorsement of former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen in a press conference at his Manchester, NH campaign headquarters on the morning of September 23, 2003. Sen. Kerry visited NH on September 20, 2003. He attended "meet the candidate" events at the Keene State Student Center in Keene; at Dusty's Diner in Claremont, and at New England College in Henniker; and concluded with a social at Tower Cafe in Manchester to thank supporters, staff, and volunteers participating in the "Big K" canvassing weekend (Sept. 20-21). Rep. Kucinich visited NH on September 20, 2003. He started with a fundraiser at Susty's on Rte. 4 in Northwood ('"must visit' spot for health food advocates"); rallied at UNH in Durham; and attended the New Hampshire Rolling Thunder "Down Home Democracy" event at Veterans Park in Manchester. Gov. Dean visited NH on
September 17-18
and September 19, 2003.
Sen. Edwards visited NH on September 17, 2003. The main event was a town meeting on the State House lawn in Concord; he then attended an AARP meeting in Manchester; and appeared on The Dan Pierce Show on WGIR in Manchester. Sen. Lieberman visited NH on September
14-15, 2003 as part of "Operation: Liebermania." (On September
13 volunteers kicked off a statewide canvass.) On September 14-15
Lieberman and wife Hadassah, son Matt, daughter Rebecca, mother Marcia
were in state.
Gov. Dean visited NH for a full day on September 12, 2003. He did grand rounds and unveiled his mental health policy at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon; hold a meet-the-candidate event at Plymouth State University in Plymouth; held a discussion with the New Hampshire Mental Health Coalition at Centennial Inn in Concord; held a meet-the-candidate event at Bektash Temple (Shriners Building) in Concord; attended Manchester Glendi (Greek Festival) at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Manchester; and attended a house party at the home of at the home of Scott and Judy Brody in Windham. Rep. Kucinich visited NH on the afternoon of September 12, 2003. He had an ed. board meeting with the Concord Monitor and participated in the New Hampshire AFL-CIO's "Conversations with the Candidates" at the NH AFL-CIO offices in Hooksett. Sen. Edwards visited NH on September 8-9, 2003. Starting late afternoon on September 8 he participated in a NH AFL-CIO forum at Plumbers and Pipefitters Hall in Hooksett; and held a town hall meeting at Merrimack Town Hall. On the morning of September 9 he addressed "Politics & Eggs" at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford; and visited with local voters at Marryanne's Diner in Derry. Sen. Kerry visited NH on the morning of September 6, 2003; he met with voters at the grand opening of his Salem campaign office at 11 Red Roof Lane. Sen. Kerry visited NH on September 3, 2003 as part of his formal announcement tour. He, wife Teresa, their children and Kerry's Vietnam crewmates arrived at Manchester Airport; he met with half a dozen unemployed New Hampshire residents at Mary Ann's Diner in Derry to talk about how the economy's downturn has affected their lives; spoke to supporters at a rally outside of his state headquarters in Manchester; Kerry wife Teresa, their children, the Vietnam crewmates and some 300 supporters then boarded buses to "Kerry-Van" from Manchester to Boston, where Kerry formally announced his candidacy at Faneuil Hall. Rep. Gephardt visited NH on September 1-2, 2003. On September 1 he spoke at the New Hampshire AFL-CIO Labor Day breakfast at Chateau Restaurant in Manchester; participated in an economic roundtable at the campaign's office on Water Street in Nashua; marched in the Milford Labor Day parade in Milford; met voters at the New Hampshire for Health Care/SEIU picnic at Veterans Park in Manchester; and attended a house party hosted by John Kacavas in Manchester. On September 2 he greeted Manchester teachers attending orientation at Memorial High School in Manchester; and spoke at "Politics and Eggs" at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford. Sen. Kerry visited NH on September 1, 2003 to celebrate Labor Day. He spoke at the annual AFL-CIO breakfast at the Chateau Restaurant in Manchester; visited Manchester firefighters on duty at 100 Merrimack; visited Manchester police on duty at 351 Chestnut Street; and marched with supporters in the annual Labor Day parade in Milford. |
