Sen. Lieberman visited NH on December 10, 2002.  He attended an informal luncheon with the Democratic caucus at Bridges House, the governor's residence, in Concord and a coffee with Concord-area activists hosted by Marty Gross, former mayor of Concord, at Sulloway & Hollis law firm in Concord.

Gov. Dean visited NH on November 22, 2002 to do a fundraiser for New Hampshire Young Democrats in Manchester.

Gov. Dean visited NH on November 13, 2002.  He held "private meetings with key activists" and spoke to American Studies classes at Manchester Central High School.

Sen. Kerry was the keynote speaker at the Granite State Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army annual Soldier of the Year awards dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua, NH on November 8, 2002.

On November 1, 2002, a day of campaigning for Republican candidates, Pres. Bush rallied with John Sununu, Craig Benson, Jeb Bradley and Charlie Bass at the Pan American Airlines hanger at Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, NH.  [Separately, First Lady Laura Bush rallied with Republican candidates the next day, November 2, 2002, in the gym at Nashua High School North].

Gov. Dean visited NH on the afternoon and evening of October 31, 2002.  He spoke to a Lebanon Rotary lunch in Lebanon; campaigned with Iris Estabrook, candidate for state senate, in Dover, and attended a Halloween Party for the Beth Reever Arsenault For State Senate Committee ($20 donation requested) at the NHDP Office on Main Street in Laconia.

Gov. Dean visited NH on the afternoon of October 29, 2002.  He met with children and health care advocates at One Eagle Square in Concord and toured and did a press conference with Senator Burt Cohen at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, before heading on to Maine.

[Former Vice President Gore had been scheduled to visit NH on October 26, 2002 but put the visit on hold because of the death of Sen. Paul Wellstone.  He had planned breakfast receptions with Mark Fernald at IBEW Local 2320 and at the Tower Cafe in Manchester and an appearance at the pumpkin festival in Keene with Katrina Swett ].

Rep. Gephardt visited NH on October 26, 2002.  He rallied at Democratic headquarters in Concord; spoke at the 62nd annual SEIU convention at the Waterville Valley Conference Center and Resort in Waterville Valley; met with local residents in Conway; and spoke at the Coos County Truman Dinner at the Town & Country Restaurant in Shelburne (Gorham).

Gov. Dean visited NH on October 25-26, 2002.  On October 25 he attended a fundraiser for Martha Fuller Clark at the home of John and Mindy Kacavas in Manchester and attended a rally for Clark at Teamster's Hall in Manchester.  On October 26 he spoke at the 62nd annual SEIU convention at the Waterville Valley Conference Center and Resort in Waterville Valley and keynoted the Merrimack County Democrats' Harvest Supper at the Pembroke Academy in Pembroke, before heading on to Boston.

Sen. Kerry visited NH on October 20, 2002.  In Nashua, he attended a fundraising reception to benefit the New Hampshire Democratic Party at Rivier College and did a veterans event with Katrina Swett at the Purple Heart Monument; in Manchester, he joined a trolley ride with Lou D'Allesandro, starting at Chez-Vachon and concluding at Grand Slam Pizza; in Exeter, he attended a town Democratic committee Chili Party; finally, in Rye, he attended a fundraising reception for Martha Fuller Clark at the home of Bill and Cindy Thalheimer.

Sen. Edwards visited NH on October 18-20, 2002.  On October 18 he did a meet and greet with state senators and state senate candidates at the McLane, Graf, Raulerson  & Middleton law firm and was the featured speaker at the NHDP's 2002 Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, attended by about 450 people, at the Center of NH in Manchester .  On October 19 he campaigned with Katrina Swett at the NHDP regional office on Main Street in Nashua; attended a house party at the home of Elliot and Bette Lasky in Nashua; lunched with activists at E.F. Lane Hotel in Keene; did an interview with the Keene Sentinel; did a coffee at a diner in Claremont; and attended a house party at the home of House Democratic Leader Peter Burling in Cornish.  On October 20 he attended a house party at Alice Chamberlin's home in Warner and a house party at Randy Perkins' home in Franklin.

Sen. Lieberman visited NH on October 14-15, 2002.  On October 14 he helped kick off Manchester City Democrats canvassing at Democratic coordinated campaign headquarters in Manchester; campaigned with 2nd district candidate for Congress Katrina Swett at the NHDP regional office in Keene; walked through Claremont with state Sen. George Disnard; campaigned with gubernatorial candidate Mark Fernald at Dartmouth College in Hanover; and did a meet and greet with Fernald and campaign volunteers at the NHDP regional office in Lebanon.  (House Democratic Leader Peter Burling accompanied Lieberman throughout the day).  On October 15 he did a breakfast fundraiser for the Nashua City Democratic Committee at Daniel Webster College in Nashua.

...Arriving from Kennebunkport, Pres. Bush visited Manchester, NH on October 5, 2002.  He spoke about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein to a crowd at the New Hampshire National Guard Armory, then spoke at a fundraiser for the Republican State Committee and Republican Senate nominee John Sununu at the Center of New Hampshire.

Gov. Dean appeared at a fundraising reception for the NH Senate Democratic Caucus in Manchester on the evening of September 26, 2002.  On the morning of September 27, 2002 he spoke to students at Somersworth High School in Somersworth, NH.

Gov. Dean spoke at the Keene County Democrats spaghetti dinner in Keene, NH on the evening of September 21, 2002.

Rep. Gephardt visited NH on September 16-17, 2002.   On September 16 he campaigned with state Senate candidate Maggie Wood Hassan (District 23), walking through downtown Exeter and speaking at a luncheon at the American Independence Museum in Exeter; went to Rochester for a "Standing Up For New Hampshire Families"event with Martha Fuller Clark at the Rochester Community Center; visited with local leaders in Manchester; and stopped in at the coordinated campaign office in Manchester.  On September 17, he campaigned with state Sen. George Disnard (District 8) in Claremont; attended a reception for state Senate candidate Joe Foster (District 13) at the Hamblett and Kerrigan law firm in Nashua; and did a Social Security forum with Katrina Swett at Aynsley Place in Nashua.

Gov. Dean visited NH for a full day on September 9, 2002.   He spent the morning in Littleton: interview with the Littleton Courier; interview with Radio WLTN; "street walk" from the radio station to Village Bookstore; meet and greet activists at the Village Bookstore.  In the afternoon he campaigned with state Senate candidate Beth Arsenault (District 4) at the coordinated campaign office in Laconia and with state Senate candidate Dennis Kalob (District 7) in Franklin.  Finally, in the evening he attended a meeting of the Manchester City Democratic Committee at Teamster's Hall in Manchester.

Gov. Dean visited NH on Labor Day, September 2, 2002.  He spoke at the NH AFL-CIO Labor Day breakfast at Chateau Restaurant in Manchester and marched in the Labor Day Parade in Milford.

Gov. Dean visited NH on the afternoon ofAugust 29, 2002.  He lunched with seniors at Carpenter Senior Center in Manchester, met with nurses and administrators at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, toured Manchester City Hall with Mayor Bob Baines, and did a meeting at the Fusion Coffee Shop.  (He then headed to Boston where he delivered the Pi Sigma Alpha Lecture at the 2002 Meeting of the American Political Science Association ).

Gov. Dean  met with Democratic activists at the Victorian Harvest Inn in North Conway and spoke at the North Conway Rotary dinner at the Red Jacket Motor Inn in North Conway, NH on the evening of August 21, 2002.

Gov.  Dean visited NH on August 18, 2002.  He appeared at a New Hampshire Democratic Network brunch in Concord and spoke at a fundraiser for Peter Odom, candidate for Merrimack County Attorney, at Mr. Odom's home in Bow.

Sen. Lieberman visited NH on August 18, 2002.  He had a busy day, starting out with three events in Manchester: the Jewish Federation of Greater Manchester brunch, a drop by at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Festival, and lunch with Manchester City aldermen; he attended the Hillsborough County Democratic Picnic at the home of Sen. Kathleen McLaughlin Peterson in Bedford; he and John Kacavas were guest speakers at the Hampton, North Hampton, and Hampton Falls Dems Picnic at Pitlochry Farms in Hampton Falls; and finally he wrapped up with a fundraiser for the House Democratic Caucus (Strafford County House candidates) in Barrington.

Sen. Kerry visited NH on the afternoon and early evening of August 11, 2002.  He attended a Cheshire County Democratic Committee reception at the Democratic offices in Keene; appeared at an event for Dennis Kalob, candidate for the District 7 Senate seat, at the home of Chris Hamm in Hopkinton; attended a bbq/picnic for NHDP staff, canvass volunteers and activists at the home of Marilyn Hoffman in Londonderry; and concluded with a veteran's meet and greet with Lou D'Allesandro in Manchester. 

Sen. Kerry visited NH on July 22, 2002.  He joined Martha Fuller Clark at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester for the launch of her "Veterans for Clark Steering Committee" and did a prescription drug event with Katrina Swett at Nashua Senior Activity Center.

Sen. Kerry campaigned with Martha Fuller Clark in Rye, NH on July 8, 2002.  They and a small group of business owners discussed the environment at the Seacoast Science Center at Odiorne Point.

Mid-Year 2002:  6 potential candidates (Bradley not counted) made 14 visits totaling 23 days: Dean-6 visits for 7 days; Edwards-2 visits for 6 days; Lieberman-2 visits for 4 days; Gephardt-2 visits for 3 days; Sharpton-1 visit for 2 days; Kerry-1 visit for 1 day.

Sen. Edwards visited NH on June 21-23, 2002.  On June 21 he dropped by the Hanover Hill Health Care Center, a nursing home in Manchester, and appeared at the Manchester City Democrats Flag Day Dinner at the Soucy home in Manchester.   On June 22 he attended a house party at the home of state Rep. Linda Foster in Mt Vernon, attended the Merrimack County Democratic Party Pig Roast & Potluck Picnic at the home of Mary Beth Walz and Harry Judd in Bow ($15 for adults, under 16 gets in free), and attended a NHDP summer seacoast event at the home of Katherine Paine in Durham.  On June 23 he attended a house party at the Pattons' home in Hampton.

Gov. Dean was the keynote speaker at the Dartmouth College Medical School Class Day Ceremony in Hanover, NH on June 8, 2002.

Sen. Lieberman visited NH on June 2-3, 2002.  On June 2 he attended a Cheshire County Democratic Committee house party ($25 per person) at Jay Kahn's residence in Keene.  On June 3 he attended a NH DLC caucus coffee at the law offices of Wiggin & Nourie, LLP in Manchester; visited Bakersville Elementary School in Manchester where he toured the school, read to students and did a roundtable discussion; spoke at a Nashua City Democratic Committee luncheon at the VFW post in Nashua; did a small fundraiser for New Hampshire Democratic Party at Fratello's Restaurant in Manchester; and went to the Coordinated Campaign headquarters in Manchester and visited with their new canvassers.

Rep. Gephardt visited NH on May 6-7, 2002.  On May 6 in Portsmouth he met with Martha Fuller Clark and local seniors at Parrott Avenue Place Senior Citizen Center; in Concord he walked to and helped open the Katrina Swett for Congress headquarters; in Hanover he met with students at Dartmouth College; in Lebanon he participated in a fundraiser for Upper Valley Democrats; in Keene he participated in a fundraiser for Cheshire County Democrats.  On May 7 in Nashua he did a breakfast with Nashua Democrats at the Nashua Country Club; finally, in Manchester he delivered the keynote speech at the Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire Convention.

Gov. Dean visited Hopkinton, NH on May 2, 2002; he spoke at the Hopkinton Democratic Committee candidates night.

Gov. Dean gave the keynote address at the Manchester City Democrats St. Patrick's Day Brunch and walked in the seventh annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Manchester, NH on March 24, 2002.

Sen. Lieberman visited NH on March 17-18, 2002.  He began with a fundraiser for congressional candidate Martha Fuller Clark at a private home in Rye Beach; followed by a roundtable with local activists and Clark at Goldi's in Portsmouth; a house party at Donna Soucy's home in Manchester; the Merrimack County Democrats St. Patrick's Day fundraising dinner at the Cat 'N Fiddle in Concord (this was the highlighted event); and finishing the evening at Wild Rover pub in Manchester.  On March 18 he stopped by firehouse Station 7 in Manchester and did a high tech small business event in Nashua.

Rep. Gephardt visited NH on March 8, 2002; he did a breakfast fundraiser with Executive Council candidate John Kacavas at Devine, Millimet & Branch in Manchester and a jersey-swapping with House Dem. Leader Peter Burling at the Legislative Office Building in Concord (following on a bet they made over the Super Bowl). 

Sen. Kerry delivered the keynote address at the New Hampshire Democratic Party's annual 100 Club Gala in Concord, NH on March 2, 2002.  Earlier that afternoon he did a health care forum with Executive Council
 Candidate John Kacavas at the Father Burns Building in Manchester and visited with firefighters at Station 6
 in Manchester. 

Gov. Dean delivered the keynote address at the Hampton Town Democratic Committee dinner in NH on March 1, 2002.

Gov. Dean visited NH on February 19-20, 2002.  On February 19 he appeared at a reception for congressional candidate Martha Fuller Clark in Portsmouth, and on February 20 he delivered the keynote address to the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce breakfast in Portsmouth.

Rev. Sharpton visited NH on February 17-18, 2002 as part of his "getting to know you" tour.  He met and greeted the congregation at New England Pentecostal Ministry in Pelham, spoke at Keene State College, ventured across the border to the site of a community action program in White River Junction, Vermont, preached at Rollins Chapel at Dartmouth College, and held a reception with students from African-American groups.  On February 18, he breakfasted with Rockefeller Leadership Fellows and Tucker Foundation civic interns at Hanover Inn.

Gov. Dean put in a full day campaigning with Executive Council candidate John Kacavas in NH on February 6, 2002.  (The two started at his campaign headquarters in Manchester, then spoke to seniors at West Side Center, campaigned downtown and had lunch with Mayor Bob Baines at the Merrimack Restaurant, toured the AES power plant construction site in Londonderry, and concluded with a reception at a law firm and a house party at a private home, both in Manchester).

Sen. Edwards visited NH on February 1-3, 2002.  On February 1 he had planned to speak in the library at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, but the school was closed due to the weather and the event cancelled.  He did interviews at the Merrimack Restaurant in Manchester and attended (closed press) a NH Senate Democrats welcome at Devine, Millimet & Branch in Manchester. On February 2 attended house parties in Concord,  Keene, and  Nashua.   On February 3 he did a coffee with activists at Cafe Brioche in Portsmouth, a lunch with activists at Goldi's Deli in Portsmouth, a house party in Dover, a fundraiser for Executive Council candidate John Kacavas at a home in Manchester, and attended (closed press) several Super Bowl parties in Manchester.

Gov. Dean met privately for an hour with writer and political consultant Dayton Duncan (deputy press secretary to Mondale in 1984; press secretary to Dukakis in 1988) at L.A. Burdick's Chocolates in Walpole, NH on January 26, 2002.

...Pres. Bush, on a three-state tour (OH, NH, MA) tied to signing of the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001" education bill, visited NH on January 8, 2002.  Sen. Judd Gregg was a key supporter of the bill in the Senate.  Arriving at Pease International Tradeport, Bush did a private reception with supporters at the University of New Hampshire in Durham followed by a speech to an audience of 3,500 in UNH's gym.

Other 2002 Activity
In April 2002, Sen. Edwards' New American Optimists sent 53 computers to New Hampshire, on loan, for Democrats to use on their 2002 campaign efforts.  The refurbished Dell Pentium III's, with monitors and keyboards, arrived on April 18, most at the coordinated campaign office in Manchester and about 20 at the party's Concord office.  "We're very grateful to Sen. Edwards for the computers," said New Hampshire Democratic Party communications director Colin Van Ostern, who said they would be put to use in the party's coordinated campaign efforts. 
 

-In his capacity as recruitment chair for the DGA, Gov. Dean met separately with likely Democratic gubernatorial candidates Bev Hollingsworth, Mark Fernald and Jim Normand in Concord, NH on December 19, 2001. 

Rep. Gephardt visited NH on December 15, 2001; his schedule included events with 1st district congressional candidate Martha Fuller Clark: a brunch at the home of Harlow and Barbara Carpenter in Kensington (SE Rockingham County), a walk-around in Portsmouth, a meeting with New Hampshire Young Democrats and a holiday party "to ring in the New Year and a New Congress!," both at the Millyard Museum in Manchester.

On December 6, 2001, Sen. Kerry did a fundraiser for Manchester Democrats in Manchester, NH.

Sen. Lieberman visited NH in the first week of November 2001.  On the evening of November 3 he arrived at Berlin-Milan Airport and spoke at the Coos County Democrats' Truman Dinner at the Town & Country Motor Inn in Shelburne.  On November 4 he attended a fundraiser brunch for the New Hampshire Democratic Senate Caucus at the home of Sen. Sylvia Larsen in Concord, a fundraiser for the Committee to Elect House Democrats at the home of Rep. Bette Lasky in Nashua, a roundtable with students at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, and a rally with Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, Mayor Bob Baines, Rep. Martha Fuller Clark and Manchester Democratic candidates at the Sweeney Post on Maple Street in Manchester.  (November 3-4, 2001)

On October 26, 2001, Sen. Kerry did a fundraiser for Manchester Mayor Bob Baines in Manchester, NH.

Former Vice President Gore headlined the New Hampshire Democratic Party's "Celebrating Our Democracy" Jefferson Jackson Dinner at the Center of New Hampshire Holiday in in Manchester, NH on October 27, 2001; the next day he did a fundraiser at a restaurant for Manchester Mayor Bob Baines.  As he had in Iowa, Gore made an unpublicized drive around the state.  On the evening of October 22, he joined Sen. Beverly Hollingworth at Lamies in Hampton (Concord Monitor).  Early the next morning found him in Berlin, he then headed south for Concord and ended up on the Seacoast, dining with friends and supporters at the Rusty Hammer in Portsmouth (Concord Monitor).  Gore left the state on October 24 for Maine, and returned for the speech.  (October 22-23 and 27-28).

Sen. Kerry keynoted the NH AFL-CIO convention in North Conway and was the special guest at the Merrimack County Democrats Harvest Dinner at Pembroke Academy in NH on October 13, 2001.

Rep. Kaptur visited NH on October 13, 2001, speaking at the state's AFL-CIO convention and meeting with campaign finance reform activists.

In August 2001, Rev. Al Sharpton announced a freedom bus tour of NH for early October 2001, however that was put off.

Sen. Kerry did two events in NH on August 5, 2001, a meet-and-greet for state representative candidate Mary Tetreau at Marilyn Hoffman's house in Londonderry (Kerry revealed his poetic skills, reading a poem of his own composition) and a fundraiser for Manchester Mayor Bob Baines at Donna Soucy's house in Manchester.  [Tetreau lost the August 14 special election in a Republican stronghold by less than 300 votes].

Rep. Gephardt made a trip to NH on behalf of state Democrats on June 8-9, 2001.  On June 8 he was the featured speaker at the annual Cheshire County Democratic dinner in Keene.  On June 9 he appeared, with Gov. Shaheen, at a Rockingham/Strafford County continental breakfast in Portsmouth; the Merrimack County Democrats' Annual Pig Roast & Pot Luck Picnic at the home of Beth Walz and Harry Judd in Bow (again w/ Shaheen); and the Manchester City Democrats' Flag Day Celebration at the Manchester Millyard Museum.

Sen. Feingold visited NH on April 23, 2001, in a trip that was primarily focused on appearances in Maine with Sen. Collins.  He toured Timberland footwear, met with Gov. Shaheen, and spoke with College Democrats at the University of New Hampshire.

Sen. Biden visited Manchester, NH on March 25, 2001 at the invitation of state Sen. Lou  D'Allesandro.  He spoke at the Manchester Democratic committee's 4th annual St. Patrick's breakfast ($25/plate fundraiser), marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade, and visited the VA Hospital.
